I have for sale 2 sets of 455 frame mounts. These are rare as hens teeth,
although I have never seen hens teeth. Ist set is for a '71-and up
Firebird-Trans AM. 2nd set is for a '73 and up Grand Prix-Grand AM.GTO
$150 for Firebird $200 for GTO. PayPal is fine. Pix available upon request.
Thanks...... or will trade for a set of 1970-72 GTO frame mounts.

Here is a question for you... I helped Kim put in his 455 HO a couple weeks ago in Surrey and the engine mounts he had for the 70 455 were huge compared to the 400 ones.. and when I slid then on the ones in the saddle on the frame they were way too long so we used the 400 ones.. Did they have a different saddle mount in th eA-Bodies?

70-72 A-body motor mount to frame brackets are specific and originals are fairly rare (I belive PartsPlace has reproduced them) The Firebird brackets are the same for all V8 Firebirds from 70-74 for sure and possible even later.

This is what a 76 Firebird 400 looks like. 4 in. wide.

This is the part that goes on the frame. Is this the same set up for earlier years ?

That is the late model setup that I think started in 1975.This setup is different than 70-74 in way the insulator is mounted to the frame and the bracket is on the engine.

here is a pic of the mounts on my 67 GTO, I believed the mounts are the same 64 to 72? maybe I'm wrong, but they sure look the same.

67 to 69 f- body is on it's own.

not sure why a 455 would have different mounts. All Pontiac blocks are the same dimensions except for the orphan 301.

ideas??

Pontiac used a wider frame mount and a matching wider engine mount on the 455 cars due to the added torque. '70 GTO advertized 500 foot lbs !
I will snap a picture of one and post it.

As you can see the mounts and frame mounts are massive. They actually stick out past the frame a bit. This is  a good way of authenticating a '70-'72 455 car.
When I bought this one thats the first thing I looked for.
