Great photos. I was reading a translated website on Beaumonts made in Chile and it stated that starting in 1965 "bonnet and trunk lid fibreglass" .Is this true?
It goes on to say:
"The Acadian was an expensive car, between its representatives were ATAL Cars, company car which is always fine. Beaumont on the other hand were produced only in the two-door version. Clearly it was not a motor car. In fact, according to the nomenclature of these American years were classified in the category of personal sport. Therefore, purchasers of the original Acadian sophisticated and were not fond of having a car with the body parts of "plastic", as I said then.
Only in the last units produced in 1971 was returned to the metal hood, original Canadian. Probably it was for items that the parent stock were surplus to complete the manufacture of the brand in that market. "
Could the steel hoods used in 1971 be surplus BB hoods???
The site goes on to say:
"Chile was perhaps the country were sold the past Beaumont in 1971.It was exactly the model of 1969, but with the metal hood and two beautiful fake air intakes."
As for total Acadian and Beaumont production, the site states:
"It is estimated that the country is putting a total of about 1,500 cars of the mark in the ten years it was in production."
