This isn't an April Fools joke but unconfirmed as of yet is a GM test pilot/engineer type guy got nabbed near Peterboro'  last weekend and one of the new Camaros was impounded under Ontario's 'Street Racing' law!.
It's supposed to be a Silver one and I know the lockup yard where it went so will follow up w/ any more info and the Vin if possible?.

Why have a 300 HP V6,  If you cant beat on it?   Why have a 427? 396?350? 327.?   I know lets buy a Corolla 4 cyl...  I have been involved, in many a close call, by someone driving too slow!  The fast drivers just go away... my 2 cents.

All i can say is that little 4 banger will do 180km/h only limited by a governer, just never mind how i know.  Of course it's not a strip burner off the line but it can sustain that speed no problem-o.

Glad I have the Malibu.  Traffic Officials stop all traffic on the road so that I can cross the intersection. Nice Old Lady!!!aww

Hey, the wifes 08 HHR SS 2 litre turbo 4 banger puts out 290 hp with the stage 1 kit in it. You can get in plenty of trouble with it.

I understand GM is now considering making the turbocharged 4 banger from the Solstice GXP  the base engine in the Camaro for next year.  260 hp but more politically correct because it is only a 4 banger,  Geezus, the V6 is rated at 29 mpg highway (with those tiny US gallons) what more do the greenies want?

All good Canadians should convert to BBC power direct from GM.
Use more gasoline = $$ for provinces, feds, GM and Rick
Reduce deficit = better life for our grandchildren

I'm not one to drive 50kmh over the speed limit however I do like making a lot of noise getting to the speed limit. I suppose that could get me busted for "racing" too..

I'm a bit concerned in that I might lose my ride one of these days, cause I tend to go way beyond the limit.  I like to drive fast and my wife did a short stint racing over in mosport way back when.  Speed is fun!!!
However,  you got to be careful.  But i tell my kids they got to drive the limit.  That will last until they get their own cars and pay their own bills - i hope.

I used to always speed around. Honestly now i'm lucky if i go 5 over, maybe 10 over on 400 series. What gets me more excited on a daily basis for regular driving to and from work is what kind of mileage i can get. When i'm driving the Trans Am i don't care about the mileage, just cruising around.

RE: 2010 Camaro impounded under Ontario's Street Racing law!.

Big Brother (Ontario) is close to legislating another brick in the "Nanny State" wall. It's a private member's bill at this point, but is expected to pass, thus requiring every home to have carbon monoxide detectors on each level......in addition to smoke detectors.

Yes, it makes sense to install them, but once again daddy and mommy (aka, the government) are telling us how to live in our homes.

And, let's not forget the calls for mandatory helmets when skiing following the death of Natasha Richardson. You know, a lot of people trip and fall on sidewalks. Maybe walkers and runners should be required to wear helmets and pads.

Give a politician an inch (sorry cm.) and they'll take a mile (sorry km.).

furious

And, you all know that the Street Racing Law doesn't require two vehicles to be involved. One vehicle accelerating very quickly qualifies.......even when not exceeding the speed limit.......all left up to the discretion of the officer.

furious

Madness prevails.
