Thanks Fat Dave. That chart is really for US cars with the one exception being the orange Chevy included but the years are wrong. That chart is linked on the 4th post on this thread. We have e-mailed the US owner of that chart but he has not updated it for Canadian six cylinder cars nor corrected the the dates for Chevy orange being 1958 onwards. 1955 -57 Canadian small blocks were green/grey in colour.
I got the dark green today from one of the guys I use he had to custom tint it so its nothing thats on the paint charts. Mine is tinted toward the 53/54 model years. When I get the engine done I will post how it looks.

I'll open up the master thread in the Library and add you photo once it is done.
Still looking for original photo's of 59, 61 & 62 261 engines.

It took me a while but I finally found the right colour in a high heat paint. It's called Jade Green. I included a couple pictures to show. 1 picture clearly shows the newly painted generator bracket on the valve cover still in the original paint
Paint brand is Alvin, colour is Jade Green #398-50 but has a mat finish you also need their clear coat # 393, both are rated to withstand up to 1200 F. I tried it first on the exhaust manifold of my pickup truck and paint stands up good.
