I have a 71' Date coded 402 block that is apprarently from a parisienne wagon.  I doubt anyone would want that for a restoration enough to pay big bucks for it!

Are you saying that in 1971 GM was still using 402 Big Blocks in Canadian Wagons ?

I haven't decoded it, but it has a 71' date code and the guy I got it from says it was in a 71' Parisienne wagon.   The numbers on the deck will tell where its from whenever I get around to decoding them.

Well I'm no expert but I thought 1969 was the last year for a 396 in a Canadian Pontiac, in 1970 they switched to 400 small blocks with the 454 as the largest. In 71 the useage of the Pontiac engine became more common except in wagons built in Oshawa the 400 small block was used just like in the Chevrolet line. It would be interesting to know for sure.

Well I do know that those heads are closed chambered with 100cc chambers. Good if you want to bump up the compression. I've had a few pairs of them and I'm about to get a pair back.
