I still have quite a bit of Canadian Poncho swag. Sales are down to a trickle. For example, I still have 174 window decals and 63 key chains. I felt I ordered a conservative amount of these items way back in September based on the membership we had at the time. With over 900 members you'd think I'd have been sold out of this stuff long ago. All proceeds have been used to keep the domain name, buy business cards which a lot of us have been handing out at shows all over the country to spread the word and expand the wealth of knowledge we have on these fantastic cars (the latest card order alone was $74), and to pay down the roughly $3000 I borrowed to get the site up and running (the CP logo was $500) and to purchase the swag. I still owe $750. I also have my third PST payment due early next month. To those of you who have supported the site by purchasing items, a hearty THANK YOU! And to those of you who have purchased items already, please refrain from buying any more of the same. The last time I posted about slow sales it seemed the same people bought more items.
Remember, the window decals are only 5 bucks which includes shipping. Isn't having access to (in my humble opinion) the best Canadian Pontiac, Acadian, Beaumont website worth 5 bucks? And to sweeten the deal, I'll include shipping in the price (Canada only) for the Keychains. I'd really like to move these and the decals. T-shirt sales have been pretty good as were the mugs. Supplies of these items aren't as great as the decals and key chains.
Here's whats available:
T-shirts:
Small - 2 Med - 4 Lg - 14 XL - 4 2XL - 2
Mugs - SOLD OUT
If I sell out of these items I can then start planning calendars for next year featuring members cars and perhaps get on to GM's licensing program so that we can offer items featuring actual models (eg: Beaumont specific items, etc) .
We've seen the awareness (and acceptance) of our cars grow by leaps and bounds in a very short time. Only with your support can we take it to the next level. It is my goal to make our cars just as desirable, valuable and have the same unique parts availability as their American cousins.
Thanks. Todd

Here's a great example of your tax money at work. I got a call from the Provincial Sales Tax office. They are sending a tax representative to my house tomorrow as they have "some questions". I suspect that my PST submissions for sales of Poncho items seem low based on my sales. What I don't think they understand is 90% of what I sell is out of the province of Ontario. I'm pretty sure I am doing things right- if you live in Ontario you pay PST on the items and shipping (I found out about the shipping at a PST/GST seminar I went to). If you live outside of Ontario you don't pay. I hope I'm right! A nice way to start my holidays! You' think they'd have bigger fish to fry..
I ship parts at work as well. If I ship out of province, no PST applies.
I sold a crate engine out of province and as long as I had proof it was sold and delivered to a non Manitoba resident no PST applied. I called the PST office just to make certain on that.

I survived the tax visit. I'm doing everything A-ok..
I gave the gal the website card. Maybe she'll join however she was driving a Caddy CTS..
that's good news. I'm not so sure I am happy about the fact that we are paying our tax bureaucrats enough to be driving around in Caddy CTS's though...

Another thought - how much trouble would it be to make up some flags or banners with the new logo? We need something we can fly or hang at events to identify ourselves. Maybe I will just hang my CP shirt at my spot in Barrie this weekend instead of wearing it!

I'm still pondering the black shirts. It turns out black shirts for some reason are a fair bit more money than the white ones. I'd really need to order 101 of them to keep from increasing the price.. Do you think we could sell this many? I have to admit I think the black shirt would look cool with the new logo in the front left..
I still have lots of window decals and key chains guys...

A lot of guys like black but one thing about black is it soaks up the sun and heats a guy up. I'd agree that the new logo would look nice on black. You know your sales figures Todd, seems like 101 would be a hard sell to me.
