Nice day to works on the cars

Too bad I have to work all week-end!
One of these days, got to make some room so I can do the brakes and replace a fuel line on the 66.
It also has a flat from sitting.
Oh well, if I can find a day to do all the little things, I'll be happy.

Both still require a lot of work.

Might get out there this afternoon. I'm feeling really tired this morning and my back has been sore but i'd like to figure out why the Trans Am won't start now. It wants to turn over but just won't. Could be a solenoid, maybe starter but i'm hoping to have some help over this afternoon to diagnose it. I wish the winds would die down too...i want to get the wheels and caps primed and painted. Of course, it's just the start of the good weather, hopefully lots more sunny days to come.

It is nice here in Toronto too BUT for anyone who knows minor hockey in hog town this is the busiest time of year. I have tryouts for the Minor Bantam team I am coaching this afternoon and again tomorrow so any car work is a next weekend plan at the best. cry

I think I got a burnt valve on my 70 chev CST.(avatar truck)  Its a 250 six so its actually going to be a pleasure to pull it off given how accessable everything is in that engine bay.  I'm actually kind of looking forward to it if I can get to it.  I gotta get it up and running so I can drive it to Red Deer next week so I can fill the box with a whole bunch of old car parts I don't really need.  Makes perfect sense to me.

Got the wagon out of storage yesterday just to wake up to light snow this morning. Was going to drive over to local show but no such luck.

Got the Trans Am started. I got down to the bad gas in the bottom was all. It was pretty much empty. I have had the car running so i guess i let it get down to far. Still haven't seen the check engine light come back so that's good. Hope these sunny days come more frequently, i'm excited to get more things done.

Yupper.I am thinking I may be able to salvage some console brackets etc. so this make it easier. Only took about 1/2 hour.

Changed a carb today on the 66 Cadi. Still running rough. I'll probably get the original rebuilt and swap back again.

I found myself at Point Pelee today. It was a nice day so Connie, my son, and I decided to take a drive. It was kind of cool standing on the most southern part of mainland Canada on the 42nd parallel. If you go straight west from this point you'd hit Northern California, Athens Greece and slice through Spain.

So, needless to say I didn't do any work on the car but we had a great day nonetheless.

i just puttered around and installed some seatbelts in the back, got the dash ready to put back together, and went for lunch with some friends. Later tonight i finished up a bicycle i made for my neighbor across the street, shes a crossing gaurd so i welded on a tube so she could put her crossing sign in it and her name is Joy so i lettered the chaingaurd with "Joyride" I'll get some pics of the bikes ive done, sort of another hobby for me.

It was sunny today with temps in the mid teens, so I put the trans back in my 62 Parisienne (leaky front seal), helped my son fix his guitar, and took my 68 Caprice our for a drive.

Moved a very heavy 10' x 10' shed in behind the new shop and cut some pine in preparation for installing the board & batten shop exterior. Also, moved plenty of yard equipment into the shed to get it out of the shop.

My new whole-house natural gas stand-by generator arrives on Friday.

Nope, 62 Nova converts were made, 63 converts including SS and then that was it, sadly. There was no SS in 62 and no convert after 63, thus never a V8 SS convert. That would have made such a sweet car too.

Lots of people have done the V8 conversion on SS converts it seems.

I sold a 65 rear trunk trim panel to a fellow on the west coast a few years ago, I think it was Washington state. He was planning to trim out a Nova convert as a 65 SS. Of all the first gen Novas, the 65 is by far my favorite. I hope he finishes that car one day.

very interesting-never followed them much so without a book I lack that basic knowledge-I remember coming real close to buying a red 63 SS Nova convertible at Barrie about 15 years ago-must have been a better buy than I thought
