Have not leak tested it yet, but will do that soon.

Also, finished all the furshlugginer brake lines (prebent so they fit right, ha!) and pretty soon the old gal will be on the road!

P.S. Yeah I know the carb looks nasty, in my defense it does work after a fashion, but I do have a proper rebuild kit and I promise I will make it better soon smile.gif

Hey as long as I don't have to freeze my a** off in winter (which I think lasts from Sept. 1 to Aug. 1 in Canada) just holler and I'll be there biggrin

Always loved those 59's, one of my high school buddy's father had one that we thoroughly worked out if you know what I mean smile.gif

With "GLOBAL WARMING" it would appear that winter (freezing a$$ off) in Calgary will now only run from April 1st through March 31st.

Yeah original style looks great, and thanks for your vote, it helped tip me over to this one smile.gif

And I am thinking that your definition of Winter and mine may be a bit different, to me anything under 60 degres Farenheit is Winter biggrin.gif

Dave that rad looks great. Custom built? Or is that a catalog item? I won't ask how much, but the Deveck aluminum 4 core one in my Porsche 928 over $ 1000 (US) and it wasn't custom built, but a catalog item. You will never have to worry about overheating that Stovebolt, even in the Ft. Myers summer!

Love the rad too! Looks like my Poncho is going to need a rad soon- there's some tell tale stains at the bottom of the core...

Speaking of rads, replaced the one in my Deville today. If anyone doesn't know the late model rads have plastic tanks which crack and leak. I left it at the shop and Adrian spent from 12:30 pm to close to 6:00 pm doing the job, it was a real PITA, not as easy as the one posted here.

I had one in the green Roadmaster LT1 go a couple months back-the plastic tank cracked near the upper hose outlet/inlet like you said-but is was a straight forward job-just working around the electric cooling fans slowed the job-maybe its a different set up in the Caddy ? I was surprised how cheap the rad was to buy.

Thanks! Because the chassis is same as 56 Chevy, I bought a 56 Chevy rediator and it was a bolt-in fit. 55-57 Chevy parts are available from many sources so comparison shopping was quite easy, and competition keeps the prices down (unlike Porsche parts). And they are in-stock catalog items. You can spend $1000 US for a Griffin aluminum radiator built to bolt into a 55-57 Chevy, but they are also available in the $300-400 price range - which of course is what I chose smile.gif

And I do believe you are right about no overheating, although I won't be derivin it much in Florida summer until I install A/C biggrin.gif

Ummm, no front bumper on the car ... if you mean the bit of chrome trim below the headlight, that is the original piece which (with the matching piece at the lower edge of the hood) makes up the upper grille shell - it is just much faded, really needs to be rechromed, I am leaving body work until last and I will need to sneak up on chrome plating because (1) no one in Fort Myers does that anymore (2) there are a few places about an hour away but they have reputations for being (a) persnickity, (b) slow and (c) pricy, so (3) I'll need to steel myself before approaching them to beg them to chrome a few things without me havving to take out a second mortgage.

But no chrome paint smile.gif

I did use "chrome" paint on the transmission, but it does not look chrome at all, just aluminum.
