Quit teasing me! I love that car, but no cash and no room. BUT.... if I sold 2 or 3, thenn maybe.........

Our nieghbour had one just like this in gold with brown vinyl top, 455. I loved that car. I swore I'd own a Bonneville one day when I first saw it. It took 22 years but I did.

That is a nice car. I like the part about wife wants it gone now. Those are the best deals you can get.

I went to see the car earlier this week and almost bought it.

It's a nice car, that needs some work to get it looking as nice as those photos. Front and rear bumpers need doing. Headliner needs replacing. Radio is out and doesn't work. The body work wasn't done by a professional and therefore repair areas are very obvious. Also, the paint (enamel) has a real foggy look to it. The side moulding endura inserts are gone, leaving just the stainless mouldings. Hood hinge is loose. The dash area is tired and needs going over.

If a person were buying the car based on its originality, the body colour has been changed from the original gold.

I was surprised that the 455 came with a single exhaust and no Posi, but perhaps that's because a lady ordered it new.

To satisfy my taste, I would have to spend $5,000 on the car just to make it a credible driver.

Now the good stuff. It drives nicely, and looks and feels solid. He has lots of paperwork, including build (broadcast) sheets. For the right buyer, it would be an enjoyable light-project car.

So, why didn't I buy it? Once I saw it in person, it just looked a bit tired. I first saw it as I waited for him to get home from work. But the real reason is, as he drove in the driveway, it just didn't excite me as I expected it to. Maybe an earlier Bonneville would have. It's probably worth the money, but I need to "feel" for the car too, but I didn't.

Good guy to deal with, I must say. We came within a few hundred dollars of a deal, but that's it.

Yes. Now I can rest easy. For a few days anyway. I've got my hands full trying to get that Cadi convert. on the road as well as the 79 T/A.

Hi everyone - I bought this 1970 bonneville in August 2010 and the paint was faded but after a really good buff good it looks like a brand new paint job. All it needed was lower ball joints for a safety. I bought it for $5500.00

I heard that the 455 was long gone and the car is running a mid seventies 350 Pontiac, is this the case? It is a beautiful car by the way and welcome aboard.

He had a guy who was buying the 455 for $4000 so he put a 350 pontiac motor from his 1968 car and it had a rebuilt top end.
