Needs a pic for sure. Don't want to sound like a broken record but very very difficult car to restore, one year only body and body parts, not available as reproductions. Market value of top restoration might make $20,000 when the moon and sun are in proper alignment but I know it sounds crazy, could easily cost you 3 to 5 times that to complete.

This car is in my area - about an hour's drive from here. I'm not familiar with it. There has been a 73 Grand AM factory 4 speed car for sale here off an on for the past year or so. I assume this is not the same car - but then again it might be if someone has the nomenclature mixed up, and/or pulled the 4 speed, which would likely have been a Muncie M20.

SAME CAR, pICTURES WERE TAKEN TODAY, IT LATER SOLD FOR $1000, GUY HAS IT PAINTED, PARTIALLY RESTORED, 455 BUICK IN IT FOR NOW UNTIL ORIGINAL 400 IS REBUILT, SOUNDS NICE, VERY SOLID, BUCKETS, CONSOLE ETC.

That is incredible, my eagle eye sees a couple of things from a Luxury LeMans on that car but who cares only me and 6 other guys in North America would know. Makes me want to go out and get a paint job! Nice colour too wink

The car looks great. Is the car a Canadian built car?? Add it to the registry by providing the info from the veh data tag. Any more pics?? Interior, engine bay, etc??

Hey 73 GTO, Look at the first 7 digits of the VIN and we can decode for you. If it is Canadian it should be:

2F37T31

2 = Pontiac
F37 = Sport Coupe
T = 400 CID V8 (Y = 455)
3 = 1973
1 = Oshawa Plant


Other Plant Codes:

P = Pontiac MI
Z = Fremont CA
B = Baltimore MD
G = Framingham MA
A = Atlanta GA
R = Arlington TX

Engine codes T & Y would be the only two codes for a GTO optioned car but not a 100% true indicator of it being a GTO optioned car, the entire VIN needs to be searched to determine that. Codes M, N, H, K are 350's.

Your never to old to learn. Never new they used that body style for GTO always thought it would be like the 74 and 75.  Or it could be I new but forgot hmm.gif
