Has anyone here ever put a U.S. Pontiac 350 and turbo 350 or 400 into a Canadian built car that originally had a Canadian Pontiac small block in it? Just wondering because I have had the green and white '70 Parisienne 2 door hardtop pictured below for quite some time and I really feel that it is well worth while saving. I have a Pontiac 350 and tranny out of a '70 Catalina as well as a complete yankee 350 and automatic out of a '72 or '73 Pontiac - if it is relatively easy swap, I'd not at all be opposed to it. At least it would get the car running and moveable. I have the complete '70 catalina here - what will I have to change over and what problems can I anticipate? Any suggestions or wisdom will be appreciated. Gary
I had one bolted in my Beaumont. The starter and fuel pump are on the drivers side so you will have to reroute some wiring and fuel line. You will have to use the frame mounts of the Big block Poncho and hope there are holes drilled in the Parisienne frame already if not you will have to do some drilling. If no holes attach the frame mounts to the block mounts and lower the big lump trany and all into the engine bay. bolt the trany to the crossmember and lower the engine until the frame mounts are resting on the front cross member. Level the engine and mark your frame were you are going to drill. On my Beaumont one factory hole lined up on each side of the engine, so I only had to drill a couple of holes.
If you look close you can just see the frame mounts on the 69 Beaumont frame. There of a 76 Firebird, clamshell style frame mounts.
