Selling the rear axle from the 57'. Its stock and the car is originally a 6cyl/3spd car so it looks like its a 4.11 gear. Its complete from drum to drum.
Since I am putting a strong 400 in the car, I am upgrading the rear axle. Its located just north of toronto (alliston ontario) but I can bring it into the city.
A 1957 rear axle from a six cylinder 3 speed standard will be a 3:55 ratio. GM changed the ratio at the same time they changed the wheel from a 15 to a 14. Very good ratio whith a 700r4 trans.
So far I have been told its a 4.11, a 3.70, and a 3.55. I think I am going to have to go to the shop and jack it up and start counting how many turns the driveshaft takes for one wheel revolution.
