2 Poncho's No start!

So yesterday afternoon I go out to the garage where my '79 T/A is in storage, driving my '89 GTA. I want to get it out from the winter and get going on placing the new decal kit I got from Phoneix Grafics and just to drive the old girl again. I put a new set of wheels and tires on it, 15x8 Turbo style rims and new 60 series rubber. I'm pretty pumped up about  as I've been waiting all winter for this day. I get the battery hooked up move everything out of the way, even brought my booster pak. It cranks and cranks, won't fire. after some frustration and choice words I figure the HEI coil pack is shot. I'm disappointed, but no biggie. I close up the shop and jump back into the GTA, WON'T FIRE! Now I'm p*ssed.
Of course I forgot my phone so I can't get ahold of my buddy down the road. Then after I calm down I go back and open the shop up, hook up the battey in my old Porsche 928 and it lights up after 2 spins on the starter. Man was that thing fun to drive again! It put a smile on face and made me forget the broken down Pontiac's. Made me realize just how good I've got it. i'll go back tomorrow and figure the GTA out and put another coil on the '79. Sometimes having too many cars isn't all that bad.

The 928 is the only Porsche I 'd take, wait I had a soft spot for the 914's too but 928 is sweet.

The infamous electrical gremlins strike again. Must have been something in the air yesterday.
I was driving home from our club meeting last night. Left about 9:45 first time driving the new beast with lights on. I got caught in some construction traffic for half an hour and watched the instrument panel lights get dimmer and dimmer. Reving the engine did not improve the situation. Pulled in front of my shop and the engine quit. Had to swap batteries to get it in the shop. Sooner or later will need to figure it out. Grrrrrrrr.

I've always had a thing for German cars and the 928 was a supercar back in the 80's.
Never could afford one, but they got cheap a few years ago. A lot to do with maintainance or more the lack of maintainence on the 4 cam V8 with the longest timing belt ever, and of course rust. They have a lot of aluminum ,but still mostly steel. I got mine out of California, in the desert region by Utah. It has a fresh engine and no rust, but major sunfade. Interior almost all replaced, next the paint.
