Hey guys, Im in Washington State USA. As these cars are rare here, and apparently less than common nowadays up north- I actually have no idea what a '64 Invader in full trim is supposed to look like. So if anyone has some pictures, or even a brochure for '64 for me to see would be great- So far ive only been able to find '64 Beaumont pictures.
Im going to have all my trim restored - but im trying to start with solid pieces because most trim/chrome restorers ive talked to want $50.00 us dollars an hour for restoration.
69Laurentian, Thanks for the welcome, I promise pictures soon.
Gug, Thanks, I sent you back a PM
Forespeed, I have really nice tail light housings but the lenses are long gone. I'll be sending you an e-mail
Thank you Stephenzone, and 62beaumont. I altered my wanted list for the correct parts thanks to your scans/pictures.
Does anyone have a picture of the lower fender emblem so I know what to look for. Also some more detailed pictures and maybe part numbers of the side trim if anyone has them would truely helpful.
Gus, Heres the main shot of the tailgate it would be much easier for me to email you all the pics I took of my tailgate, i attached my photobucket album of all the photos. Its actually a very nice tail gate. There is a dent on the bottom below the center diecast, but should easily be poped out. It does have a little bit of rust on the back side, but most of it will clean up with a quick sanding and I'll include a donor piece just to be safe. It could be used as driver quality as is, or easily repaired for show. I also have regulators, glass, cranks etc. I could also repair it for you. It funny because our shop converted a mint 65 tailgate into a 62-64 style for my boss' '62.
Gus, We are nowhere near as knowledgeable with Acadians as we are Chevy II's/Novas. Wagons had wagon specific tail light lenses/housing because the back of a wagon is taller than a hardtop, they stretched the light to make it look right. We know that 62-64 Acadian wagons used the 62-64 nova wagon tail lights. But we're not even certain that a 65 Acadian wagons used 65 nova wagon lights. We called our buddy up north who probably knows and we're waiting on a response.
The 65 Acadian sedan/hardtop tail light housings you showed me are made of "pot metal". 65 Chevy II/Nova hardtop/sedans are made from pressed aluminum. However 65 Chevy II/Nova wagon tail lights are made of pot metal also.
The red lenses look similar but Im not at home with a set in my hand to say they are or arent.
Chances are there 99.999% of people who saw your car wouldn't know the difference if they were chevy II wagon lights or the so far to me mythical 65 Acadian wagon lights. I guess you would also have to figure out the backup light situation also. We need to find an assembly manual.
Thank- you Doug & steve By the looks of spity tailgate pictures of the rear1/4 taillight pocket looks different then mine (may need to change T/L panel sheet metal as well) Spity here is a picture of Acadian T/L sheet metal panels I wonder if i can get them on Jackson's yard tour for are 65 INVADER & maybe a set of taillights?
Gus, Heres those housings, they need a rechrome but they are excellent candidates (ie no deep pits) sorry no good lenses, and also the sheet metal donors.
Lots more in the photobucket account @ https://s348.photobucket.com/albums/q354/novanogo/65%20tailgate/
That's different, that it is an Invader yet has a deluxe steering wheel with no horn ring. The dash knobs are chrome instead of black. Also, it looks like it has a dash pad with stainless retaining trim. All of these items were normally reserved for the upper trim level, at least in the states. I would expect to see these pieces on a Canso in the Acadian line.
I asked gus for pictures because I wasnt sure if my invader was supposed to have stainless steel door pannel retainers or the painted steel ones like a chevy ii 100 series. Same with the chrome dash knobs. But I havent seen an unmolested original car to compare to. Ive looked at some dealer brochures but they dont give a good dash drawing. I know dealer brochures are usually not entirely accurate anyway.
His car has the proper 100 series arm rests.
These cars also had to distinguish themselves against the Chevy II's anyway, and who knows what happened in 45 years or use.
Hi Doug I'm packing up your parts,There are two different types of horn buttons with or without ring which one do you need? Here is a picture of the two
Thanks Gus, for helping me with everything I originally needed - Hopefully the parts i'm sending to you will be able to help you.
Thanks again, Doug

Theres a couple more odds and end parts im going to need in the neer future, like a set of outer grill brackets, and 2 of the L brackets that hold in the tail light housings.
