Carl,
I can probably get the one out of my 67 4 door htp tonight if you want. Probably less than $1,000 to ship "rush rush hurry quick".
If you need it today, the best I could do is e-mail it tonight.

Rick

Is a specific crossmember and bracket required for the shifter mechanism? I did a 4 speed conversion on a 68 Impala about 20 years ago. It was a Muncie M21 with  hurst shifter. I had to install a bracket on the frame for the clutch pivot but I don't recall any bracket having to be attached to the crossmember. Just wondering as i plan to do another 4 speed conversion at some point.

The bracket we were talking about, was the mounting bracket, that comes with Hurst Shifter   the 65-67 shifter (discontinued) has a bracket to raise the shifter approx 1 inch to clear cross memeber.. In my case I used a 63-64 Impala/Nova/Chevelle shifter and the reverse rod just touched  I tried to press a little indentation in the HD cross memeber, and bent it out of shape.  Dave is saying that the Chevelle/Monte cross member fits fine, and solves the rub!  and allows use of available Chevelle Hurst shifter    So when you get ready to change yours  you can use chevelle cross member or raise your stock member up a little with washers?  Dave will correct me if I have it incorrect...  thanks as usual to Dave

So a member from out West PM's, and offers to take the "cross member" out of his car, and ship to me today!!!!!!! He is the CEO of a Western company, and leaves work, to go home, and get crossmember for me!!!   I don't want to point him out, BUT    Heck yes!!  his name is Rick, and he has old Pontiac cars... What a nice guy!!!!!!  Readers Digest once printed a neat saying  "The true test of a gentleman, is in the way he treats those, who can be of no service to him!!!

God Bless your kindness        almost Shifty in Clinton
