Wheel dealers in Canada

Seems like every time I find a wheel I like, nobody around here carry's it. No dealers in this area for American racing, weld, ( ya I know they had some difficulties, but are running again) I had a set of weld draglites and needed to replace 2 cuz of backsplace issues, can't get them up here, no lookking for some american racing Vintage 200s's and nobody in my area know;s of anybody handling them, Sh*t. Any help out there near the island out west??

Here's a link to some parts dealers in Canada... scroll through there's a few in BC.

http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114648

If you have no luck with any of these, try calling your closest Canadian Tire (I can hear the laughing) I think they still carry American Racing wheels... Seriously, local CT's order alot of it's aftermarket parts from the same distributor as most speed shops around here (Keystone Distributing).  Looks like 69 belair beat me too it. smile

My old man worked for a company named Profit Products in Delta. They just sold mag wheels from all over. It's now defunct, but I know one of the boys is in ontario working for American racing. If you want I could try to track him down.

What was your dads name?
I was going to recommend Tom The Tire Guy too. I bought my last set of tires from him, and will go to see him after this job is over for some more.

Mopac sells the Weld wheels in Canada and American Racing is no longer in Canada.
You should have a US mailbox, but being on the Island is a hassle.
I saved $1000's of dollars in UPS and Fedex charges. If jegs will ship thru USPS that's the way to go...no border add ons

I have had wheels sent through the US Postal service. It's a hassle for most shippers though as they have to take them to the post office, whereas Fedex and UPS will pick them up.
The beauty of the post office though, is you don't get the ridiculous charges that Fedex and UPS add on for 'brokerage' fees.
It was a bit of a heart stopper when only 3 wheels showed up, but the 4th arrived the next day.
A good system for getting stuff across the border. smile

I'm also looking for wheel dealers in Canada. I'm looking for someone who is a distributer for center line wheels. I have the wheels but I need the center caps. I have ordered 4 new caps with Jegs in november 2008. They have been on back order since then. The last promise to ship was may 29 2009. Did not show. I called Jegs in Ohio and they said their manufacturer is in California and has not made them yet. They said there are 132 on back order, and I am one of them. I have two choices - wait until they make them or I can cancel my order. I told them I would wait, but it sure would be nice to find somebody who had them in stock, so I could call them back.
If anybody knows of another distributer could you pass on the information, please.

Leo

2nd quote came in at more than the first quote, so not really sure where to turn. Jeg's list them at 219 for the 7inch and 229 for the 8 inch rims. New quote came in at 400 ea. I looking at ordering directly from Jegs, taking into consideration , shipping and dollar value, broker fee's and any possible fee's and I'd still be ahead a couple of hundred. But just not sure about Jegs shipping fee's.

Hey Leo, have u had any luck dealing with jeg's, they list the wheels that I want but not sure about shipping charges that they would charge for said wheels. They list them for about 900 us that's about 500 less than any Canadian dealer after exchange.

Hi Lemans64.
This is the first thing I order from jegs. Not impressed with their delivery promises.
It's been 6 months since I ordered but if I remember correctly they don't try to hide any costs. As you fill out the order form all costs are shown and added up to the piece price, such as exchange, duties, and delivery costs. I love those mags.
Good luck Leo

Lots of headache comes with those wheels, they are custom order and just a headache, as I cannot get a part number from american racing to order them from a dealer or a custom shop. I was quoted 400  a wheel, so my thniking is to go with something else. possibly Weld prostar.
