Ok then...... so we're heading up HWY 400 to cottage country, sun roof is off balsting along at 140 or so, and the next thing I know is the two pretty and shapely early 20 something girls in my car have somehow taken off their bras without me knowing and are flying them out of the sunroof, if that wasn't enough of a distraction I had to drive the rest of the trip trying to keep my eyes on the road instead of on the wind whipped, get my drift,  light coloured tank tops of my passengers!

Hey, found another one of my Monte Carlo SS, I took this from a ladder, used black and white film with a Pentax SP1000 fully maual 35 mm SLR Camera. I was going for a retro muscle look....

Sheesh, I had almost forgotten about those air cleaners, I had them on some old iron back in the day, it's a wonder how that cheesey thin foam pad underneath the shiny chrome top ever kept out all but the biggest pieces of crud ...

Out of good taste, and since we all wore those back then and are properly ashamed nowadays to admit it, of course we are not commenting.

But al least we never allowed our picture to be taken with such lily white legs! ... Todd, forgive me, I am just kidding! smile.gif

Well. not about "we all wore those back then" omg.gif

Hey, could be worse, I have an old photo of me in hip hugger bell bottoms omfg.gif

We refer to those as "Richard Simmons Shorts" in my house, you can take anything you want from that! Of course Todd was there with a pretty girl, or maybe he just asked her to stand by his car.....

This was my first and only new car purchase: An 89 Cavalier RS. The RS was basically a lightweight Z24. Mine had the 2.8 , 5 speed and no other options (except cassette). It was fairly quick. I swapped out a Monza muffler (the black ones with the "Ferrari" chrome tips".

I took it and my (then) girlfriend to Myrtle Beach. Dig the mullet and shades and white legs. I had to run from Colonel Sanders the whole time I was there!biggrin

I worked at the dealership at the time. When the car was in for PDI a tech backed into it and took out the hood and grille. I tried to convince them to put a Z24 hood on it. Instead I got the stocker but did manage to get the Z24 grille. The RS grille was plain and had a gold bowtie..

Good times..good times...

I recall looking seriously at these cars when the new body came out in 1988-they became so popular it was unbelievable ! I near bought a blue one-I bought the orange 73 instead-although I got most of my money back after 9 years-the Cavalier probably would have served me better-

The only regret is not getting AC and cruise control. I saw the same car about 8 years later and it still looked pretty good.

Well-you got a great Son out of that-
I wasn't brave enough to marry the girl I dated back then, I knew her for seven years.
