70 parisienne, what to look for?

Iam going to look at a 70 parisienne conv. shortly. Is there
any particular things i should be watching out for when looking it over, ie
is there a specific place they go bad, frame, trunk ect..? that i should be paying extra attention to. this would be my first adventure past 64 in a parisienne.

thanks
G A

Typical GM rust areas on the 70's is the frame rails. Especially at the back. Quarter panels are usually full of cheese by now. On a convert. always check the floors, trunk and convert. top well.
Good luck, and I hope you get it!

Yeah, what Earl said, all 60's and early 70's GM full frame cars have the same areas of concern.  Frame rails underneath the windsheild area and rear sections under the trunk.  Wheel well lips and bottom of front fenders behind the wheels.  Most quarters are usually toast.

'70 is one of my favorites. I love the "Grand Prix" style grill and headlight arrangement. The '70 Bonneville hrdtp for sale in Sarnia is a very tempting buy, but I'm outta room and more importantly money.

If it has any thick tar undercoating...run away.

i went and had a look tonight, it needs everything frame, body, interior..i was
hoping it would be better, but it would burn up money like it was going out of style..
its a one family car , so the attachment to the car is understandable but keeping
the price too high for its actual condition...

There's a red 70 Parisienne convertible for sale in Crossfield AB (just north of Calgary) with a black vinyl interior for sale.  Owner is looking for about $8K.  350 2bbl, turbo 400, 12 bolt, cruise control.  Car was painted a number of years ago, paint looks good but some major overspray on cowl screen and radiator support.  Car really needs some TLC, but nothing major.

I only looked at it quickly, but you eastern rust belt guys would salivate over a western car.  Let me know if you want more info.
