65-66 full size pwr antenna install

I just bought an original power antenna assembly from a 66 Parisienne.  Does anyone have info on the proper location and wiring, for a 65 or 66?  I know it is on the rear but unsure about exact location.  Thanks

I have one of these on a '66 Grande Parisienne. The antenna mast extends vertically. It mounts on the left (Driver's) side, on the top of the rear quarter.

Measuring to the centre of the antenna -- From the rear fender extension seam forward: 10 1/2". From the lip of the trunk outboard 2 5/8". The black grommet that fits on the fender will be an odd shape because it is right on the upward curve of the fender going outboard.

The control switch mounts to the right of the rear speaker control, if you have one.

Sorry, no spare switches and not sure about the wiring.

Here are some photos:

Thanks very much for the location info and it will be quite helpfull.   However, since starting this post I learned that the Grand Parisienne appears to have had a different antenna set up.  It seems it was vertical but the antenna set up I have is from a standard Parisienne, definately protruding at an angle, and on the right rear.  I also suspect it should be further forward as well but will check the measurements you supplied.  I am also going by the outer bezel (came with it) that could be incorrect and it is damaged.  Thanks!

Also, to add to the dilemma, I suspect the American version may be different too...hmm

You're right that there is probably a difference between the Parisiennes and the Grandes. I haven't seen an antenna on a Parisienne but the Impalas have the antenna on the right and much farther up the fender. Those two probably aren't much different. Know a Chevy forum? smile.gif

hey Steve; I know that a Cutlass convertible top swiitch is the same as the switch used on the wagon rear tailgate window and mounts in the same location. Would;nt surprise me that GM did that across the line ?
