"Criminal". That's the only word for what was done to the Pontiac nameplate. To go from a performance and styling leader to what those misguided morons brought it to in the recent past is absolutely unforgivable. The same people who committed this heresy are no doubt basking in their bloated retirement, and saying things like, "Who, me?".

Sad is right.

One thing I wish they would have pointed out in the video is that just when there was a faint heartbeat again in the G8 Pontiac got the final bullet.

It truly is a shame to see the last 10 years with the G8 being the only flicker of light.

Oh, I guess in fairness it's not quite10 years since the F body died....

They got the Bonneville back on track in 2004 & 2005 with the Northstar V8 and killed it after only two years too. no

That brought a tear to my eye. To think that some of the pontiacs over the years are now Icons in its history over all car manufacter's. One is the second gen Firebirds for me. Its been a sad couple of years for GM for sure. I allready have seen some of Gm's new adds, optimistic to say the least, only time will tell.

Yup, and it makes the critical point of showing what happens when people who are not car guys (no engineering background) are put in control of car companies.  GM's downfall in general began when Roger Smith was appointed president in the mid 80's.  If Robert Lutz had been appointed head honcho 6-7 years ago, I think they still might have turned it around, but a couple of decades of being controlled by fancy shmancy MBA types who know nothing about cars and why people buy them ultimately took it's toll.  Now I read that the Obama forces have appointed the old retired head of A T & T (he's 67 - fresh, new blood?) as the new Chairman of the Board of GM.  Great, a guy who spent his life buying and combining phone companies, what does he know about the hard and complicated part of the car business, manufacturing, and creating vehicles that people actually want to buy and marketing them?  I mean what skills do you need selling phone services?  The guy even admitted today that he "doesn't know that much about cars."  SHEESH!

Hilar, Well put. You need Car Guys in charge of Car Companies. That is all there is too it.

They need to hire a guy like Chip Foose to get some styling into the car again. They do not need any more of those engineers that make the cars look like a transformer type vehicle that nobody wants. (should I say like the Aztec)

Asking car guys to be in control of car companys is like asking a working man to be in control of the government and not a lawyer. It makes sense but the chain of command never lets the bottom rise to the top. The Pontiac line has always been the nicest and this is only a good investment for anybody to pick up. I want the right to the Pontiac name, sell it to me.
