To me, this has all the classic hallmarks of an excellent logo, it is clean, simple and easily identifiable.
We are a subsection of POCI already, so personally I don't think it adds anything to re-incorporate the POCI logo inside our logo, and I do think that combined with an outline of Canada will just be too "busy". JMHO.
Sorry Ray........I'm with Hillar on this. To keep it simple. As a new chapter... will we have the funds to do a fancy kinda crest? I think it will come down to money as with any club.
To me our flag is sacred and we should not mess with it. The Maple Leaf is essential to me, it can be an outline not necessarily that complex image I found on the web, but it has to be that old school style, the arrow head is too narrow focus of a symbol, the indian head appeared inside our 61 Strato Chief and 65 Laurentian and it is a theme on all 50's cars as well. None of my images considers Acadians or Beaumonts either and I am still thinking about that.
Overall my concept is VERY simple, take the existing club logo, overlay it on a Maple Leaf with nice script. If you are worried about money I'll get it done for free using my wide ranging network

I like the Canadain flag, as a background, but maybe we could use the colors? I don't think we need to identify the POCI , as we are "Canadian Poncho"! If it wasn't for the 1000 members banding together, POCI wouldn't give us the time of day..
You may be right Carl BUT don't worry about a thing because the newsletter editor is the Voice and it is none other than Canadian Poncho Superstar - 73SC, Big Ray from the Big Smoke. I think you might have some influence with him
Thanks for standing up Ray! I didn't even think of the Acadian and Beaumont crests. I'm bias as to the indian head, but I do think we should add that Canadian flare to our logo. If everyone wants the Oakland taken off, I'm ok, but it is part of Pontiac. then somehow add the two Canadian crests to it.
Ray I really like your last Logo the Maple Leaf with the Canadian Pontiac Specialty Chapter on it , but how about trying it with the traditional Maple Leaf as shown on the Canadian flag. I think it would look a little less cluttered. Joe

I have to give proper credit now...I showed the first one to my wife and she said it would be nice if the wording was inside the Maple Leaf so I went back and did it.
I was going to e-mail it to Paul later tonight, I like it too. With a proper graphics person they will be able to have a seamless transition to the POCI logo background colour which I got as close as I could. I like the Gold script too, I can almost see this embroidered on black Golf shirts now.
How about adding an Acadian & Beaumont spear behind the specialty chapter lettering ,one on the right leaf one on the left leaf close to the POCI logo.
