As it turns out Paul Jones of Peterborough is pretty accomplished at this sort of design so I am leaving my basic design up to him to perfect. I don't know if Paul is a member on here, he has a Canadian Judge I believe.
I have received a lot of emails From our club members and it seems everybody agrees a simple LOGO would be the best. It looks like everyone is in favor of the Canadian Maple Leaf with the POCI LOGO centered and our the Canadian Pontiac Specialty Chapter centered under it. I hope this is fine with all club members.. Joe

I guess we will have to go with the flow.. Its great , if you know, what the leaf stands for , and those who think Acadians and Beaumonts, are not Pontiacs, are being left out... It looks more POCI than Canadian Our Poncho website logo is pure Canadian....

I know I am not a member but maybe in the future, I do like the design of it and was hopefull when I seen the Acadian and Beaumont spears, but I am now a little disapointed they were dropped. I guess as a Beaumont owner I agree with what you are saying.

I also think the Beaumont and Acadian emblems need to be included, otherwise the logo doesn't make any sense to me. These were truly unique Canadian models, isn't that what we are supposed to be recognizing and celebrating? I have never been a fan of the current POCI logo, but that is just my opinion. I certainly don't think it needs to be incorporated within the logo, just as the GM logo is not incorporated inside the Pontiac emblem or within any other division emblem either, even GMC!

How nice would it look with out the Indian-Oakland-GMC? too Canadian?
My opinion exactly Carl, having both the Indian head and the Arrowhead is redundant. Yes, I understand there may be a couple of Canadian Oaklands, but is the number in the club ever likely to get any larger? And excuse my ignorance, but what was the difference between Canadian Oaklands and American Oaklands?

Just reading what eveyone has to say makes my choice for the logo. If we don't need the Indian head and the Okland.......get rid of them and replace them with the Acadian and Beaumont. This is for the cars that currently cannot join the POCI. Sure as a GTO owner I'd like that logo on too, but I can join the US POCI at any time like the Okland on this list. The important part is making the list or cars that can join. So no one is currently left out like under the current POCI list.
I see it differently than you. The Canadian Pontiac Specialty Chapter legitimizes our cars in an international club that up to now has really not included them. The inclusion of the POCI logo with our name Canadian Pontiac Specialty Chapter is a public acknowledgement of this. To me it is a symbolic and essential part of the logo.
One other thing, this Site is inclusive but it is all about Canadian Ponchos, the specialty chapter is about Canadian made and sold Pontiacs, two different concepts actually.
....and another thing came to me while I was shaving this morning. If we want to include all uniquely Canadian models on the logo then we need to add the Pathfinder, Strato Chief, Laurentian. Parisienne, Custom Sport and Grande Parisienne emblems as well ....there is no way this can be accomplished and still have a visual pleasing logo.
Well, I guess I prefer the simpler logo #2, an option would be to make the logo round, an the outer circle could contain the various models you all want to see, to me we will never make everybody happy as there has to be a good number of models out there that a canadian specific, mine is a fleetleader but I dont expect that to be recognized, I think CANADIAN PONTIAC SPECIALTY CHAPTER says it all....We are all canadians

Those are all models of the Pontiac line, Acadian and Beaumont are not . I guess your trying to say the Maple leaf is representation of all the Canadian models. My 69 uses the spear with the two little maple leafs on it. Maybe you could use that one for the large spear in the back ground. Just a thought. Not trying to stir anything up hear.
Just an observation on the indian head, just noticed it was used on Canadian pontiacs in the 60's . The 64 Laurentian high beam indicator . Wonder what year they dropped this ?
