I already own a roofing nailer so I'm good to go. I just don't know if there is a set amount of vents per square foot of attic space. As for a shop party now your talking! I actually made a drawing of this building and designed the whole thing and it worked out. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be but it's nice.

Great job on that shop. I would have used a ridge vent if I hadn't chosen a cottage roof style. Ridge vents don't work on that style.

Here's a look at ridge vents.

They're available in rolls at Home Hardware.

Its just not faircry.gif   Just joking but really not fair. If I was at your house I wouldn't take my toys and go home. I would move in. Looks great

Thankyou for the positive feedback. I couldn't do this if I didn't build it myself. Sorry I should make a mention to my buddy Eric and a tuff kid named Greg. I actually took holidays to make this happen, stupid ehh?

You got the vents in yet. Don't go for the cheap doors. I got the 2" insulated garage doors.

My doors  are 8'-9' tall by 10' wide so if you have a line on a deal let me Know. They are basically 5-21" panels tall.

I need at Least two 8'-9" tall by 10' wide and one 8'-9" tall by 8' wide. The panel depth is 5-21" sections to create that height. I may put in more but it depends on what you can get them for.

Not sure if you have all your attic venting figured out yet, but you would need an unobstructed vent area >1/300 of the insulated ceiling area, with a minimum of 25% of the required vent area located at both top and bottom of the space. Gambrel roofs do no need the bottom vent (soffit vent) but you have a combo of shed/gambrel roof on your garage. Also vent placement would consider what your attic space is doing, ie is it compartmentalizing the attic area or not. Without seeing how your upstairs insulation location is configured, i would vent the soffits on the sides, place roof vents higher along the shed roof portion (maybe 24-36" away from that valley) and another row near the peak (or a ridge vent). Also make sure any planned insulation in your upstairs against the roof is a minimum of 2.5" away from the roof sheathing to allow air to pass through... you can use cardboard or premade styrofoam insulation stops for this, not sure if it applies to you though....

Building is fun!!hahahaha!!

My door guy got me one in Victoria. It's called Depend a Door 250-383-4225
He has a smoking deal on 1/2 horse belt motors at $230 with 2 remotes.
He'll be sending the pricefor the 3 insulated doors to me later today on my email and I'll forward it to you.
