1962 Canadian Chevy II Nova 400 Convertible

Some people have asked why am I selling my cars or car.  This is why.

I worked all my career for GM (31.5yrs) and then for Delphi (3.5yrs), both of these corporation's are now in Bankruptcy.  As a salary employee I worked without a contract and was always told a contract was not necessary, GM always told care of their salaried employee's.  Well when GM spun off Delphi in about 1998, I was given an opportunity to retire under GM, I was too young and not ready.  Again in 2000, they gave us an opportunity to leave with no incentives and I was not ready.
About 2yrs later then gave me an opportunity to leave under Delphi with incentives
amounting to about 91.5% of a full retirement, I took it.
Through mismanagement and tied to a contract with GM that was not profitable the CFO cooked the books and kept Delphi under the radar for a number of years.  Eventually they uncovered the truth and allowed the CFO and assistant to retire.
Finally Delphi found itself in Bankruptcy and a year later has turned the salaried employee retirement fund over to a governmental agency some 2 billion dollars in arrears.  This agency will now audit the people drawing pensions, project the future of the fund based on compounding, no new contributions, and revise our current pensions on a month to month basis.  I just received an email from our salaried employee association, projected pension cuts are 30-70%.

So both of my cars are for sale, I hope to sell only one of them.  But it is necessary to list both in order to hopfully sell one and save the other.

The 62 Convertible was built in Oshawa and sold in Alberta.  It is still all original except the 6 cyd motor was replaced with a 350 V-8 truck motor from the 70's.  Also, the PG was replaced with a 350 turbo trans.  The car was painted once and the front fenders were replaced at that time.  I have driven the car from B.C. to Reno, NV and from there to Michigan.  It is currently in driver condition.  Paint is faded, scratched and in need of repainting.  There is some rust repair needed but none in critical areas.  The floors and trunk are all solid.  lips of quarter panels need help.  On a scale of 10 I would say the car is about an 8.5 for the body.  The motor runs fine and everything pretty much works on the car.  Exterior is the original twilight turqoise with a dark aqua interior and white top.  Top is usable but old and frayed.  This car has a power top which was special ordered and available only in Canada.  This car could be driven home or I can transport at a reasonable cost.
Additional questions, please email me Halletts1@chartermi.net I can send pictures and additional information.  Asking price is $12,000 USD.
Thanks,  Norm
The list of options is long so please email for detailed information.  Halletts1@chartermi.net

It's a shame that you're forced to make this sacrifice. Hopefully your pension doesn't take too big of a hit... ( Although it's bullsh-t that this is even an issue!)
