Happy Fathers Day 2009!!! I wish you all a great day! for all of you Fathers, "and" all of you who are a "Male role model" to someone... I lost my Dad in '96 so some of you are filling in! lol Carl
Thanks C2 for the good wishes, so far it's been a good start, rib dinner tonight and I hear they are doing New Yorkers on the grill tomorrow, saw the youngest sneaking in a nice looking cake too !
As you all know if dad hadn't walked into Sinclair Pontiac in London Ontario in 1969 and bought a new Strato Chief I wouldn't have bought my Laurentian and started this site, so hats of to him!
(that was taken about 1975) . I sure miss him!
Here's the car he traded (that's my grandparents in the photo):
She was light blue with a white roof/inserts. 283 powered as well..
I'm also proud to be a dad to a great son. Tomorrow we are going out for breakfast and might catch a movie.
Happy fathers day to all the dad out there, still have my dad thank god, he is 81 and semi retired. He owned a printing company in Kingston for years and retired to working out of his home with the spiral binding part of the bussiness. He is still active in running merithons, was a gold medal winner in the seniors games in the triatholon a few years back.
My dad back in the 60's the day he atempted to run around the perimeter, made 30 miles
This is when he was 72 in kingston at 81 he still does it.
Dad will be 82 this year and still going strong. Put him on the train in Grimsby Ontario a week ago and he is out on the left coast. He will fly back to Toronto this tuesday. The first thing he will do when he gets back is check the milage on the Caddy to make sure none of his kids snock the keys to go for a joy ride well he was away lol. Wish I could post a picture of him with his first new car, a 62 Pontiac 9 passanger wagon.
Happy Father's day! Next year at this time i'll be a proud papa celebrating my first one. Today what better way to spend dad's day than at a car show! Picking up my dad today and bringing him out to the Optimist car show in town. If it wasn't for his interest and passion for cars i might not have mine.
Happy father's day too! I lost mine in Nov of 95 (54 years old, heart attack) I was 24, man do I miss him! It's because of him I am a car nut. It started at 6 years old, with him restoring a 65 vette roadster. He helped me build my first car at 14,(55 bel-air 2 door hardtop) then he drove it for the time I didn't have a licence. I had to put on new rubber when I finally got to drive it! Sigh, Well on a happier note, I just woke up! The wife and kiddies let me sleep in late, She also fed me way to much red wine last night.
Just got back from our local Father's Day Car Show. Good turn out, even with the lousy weather. My 2 teenage daughters showed up to support me. Love those girls.
I lost my dad in 1980. He was 42, I was 19 and the oldest of 5.
Was a tough time for me. I think about him alot on this day.
I think I'll go for a visit.
My mother remarried a few years later, to a fella with 4 kids of his own.
Big family now. I can't think of anyone better for a step-father. Must have been hard for him to "inherent" 5 more kids, all stubborn and a little jaded, but he did it, in his own quiet way.
Turns out, he's an old car guy too, who currently owns a 67 Camaro convertible that he did a ground-up restore on for my mother. Great guy.
My dads still around still selling GEMs 37 years at the same dealership. He sold 5 cars in the last 2 day. There is 5 sales men there and in the last 2 days there was a total of 6 cars sold so I guess the old man still has it. 13 times Grand Sales master and I don't know how many silver and bronze . I can only get 2 plaques to load there is a third one but it goes super size for some reason so i just deleted it. His first demo he brought home was 1972 Pontiac Parissien. He has been described to me as the most ruthless man on earth by one guy who knows him. But I still love him any ways

This may be a day late, but Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads on here!! Since I have no kids of my own, that I am aware of, all of you guys are the lucky ones. I too lost my Dad in '05 and he as well is the reason I own Ponchos. Since I moved out west from the east coast and cars are more plentiful here, he is the one who suggested to try and get one of every model '67 Pontiac!! So Dad, I am getting there!!! (LOL)
Here is an email I got from another guy and I hope the link works!!!
The Model T is a rare Centre Door and his first car taken in 1949 somewhere around Leaside where Dad grew up.. He used to buy parts for it from Greenwood Wreckers were Gord Hazlett worked for a while...he and Gord still talk on the phone every now and then..
The 1954 bike shot is Ottawa again or maybe Quebec City and I believe a different bike than his Matchless twin of the previous shot?.
