help identify this item for 64 65 beaumont/GTO interior

so I'm looking at the dashes of some Goats and see the speedo has a light in it on some and not on others.  I was told at one point that it was a speed warning light.  is this true?

the 64 do not have it.  The light is a brake warning light.

In 64 the park brake warning is an accessory round light that hangs under the dash( i have one if you need a picture).

I know that by 1967 the speedos still looked the same, but my 67s have the brake light in the speedo as your second picure shows. This is also because in 67 they went to the dual res master cylinders with the pressue warning switch too.

Im not sure about correctness for 65 and 66.

I suppose when people restore the early cars, it is possible some used the 67s as replacements.

cool.. thanks for the info.. I've been trying to figure it out because not all the 66's have em' and not all the 67's have em' either. I purchased one on Ebay for a 65 Goat with the light.. so I really dont know what justifies them having it or not. Weird.

Just went through all my pictures of my 64s and 67 beaumonts

all the 64s  do NOT have the light

all the 67s DO have it

So perhaps there is your difference.

The same book uses only a single illustration to illustrate the 64/65 dash and makes no mention of a speed indicator nor park brake warning indicator. But it also uses only 1 illustration for 1966-67 instrument panel and again no mention of either.

I did buy a Tilt column for a 65 GTO a couple of weeks ago
