1967 Beaumont letters rear panel under trunk

i have noticed  there are 2 different type  of letters

1  mine are  seperated  about   one inch  apart  held  by  a straight  metal  line  that runs under  the letters   B  E  A  U  M  O  N  T  imagine  a straight  line  under these letters

i have seen  on other models  ,  an aluminium  stamped   plate   with  the same type of letters

can  anyone  tell me more about the two   types

why   one type   why  the other type   , is this  a mid  year change   or something   else ?????

The one with the line under it is on the Beaumont series the one with the backing plate would be the Beaumont Custom and I think Sport Deluxe series.

Beaumont economy series (this was also used on the 68 Deluxe)

You are correct Ian!   could not have said it better myself.

Since1983, you have a 2dr post car....... so yours is the base model as seen by my car in the first  photo.

the 67 and 68 base model beaumonts use the same emblem, so you may have better luck finding one.

But i will admit, it was the nicest appearing car ive owned(body wise)

you also have to add the 736 vin SDs which came with them.... but these are now the rarest 67sd pieces, since everything else is now reproduced... very very hard to find!

there was a spare set in the trunk of the blue SD-I was holding them for a while but sold them via E-Bay 4 years ago to Ron -I think they were around $600-lots to me at the time but cheap to someone who needs them.

Your car is a 2dr post base model.
The trunk letters should be like the one in the very top photo of the 4dr.

Being that your car is a base model, it should not have any trim(or very little)
Gotta love those 2dr post cars!

I would like to know where I could find this chrome trim around the Beaumont under the trunk lid too. Anyone have any ideas where I might be able to pick one up or is there someone who manufactures them? I talked to DT Stainless but I don't have a sample to give him.

I have a spare set of all three trim styles, im thinking of sending the custom

set (the ring) to DT for a sample so others can finish off their cars.

The delema is- whats the chance i wouldn't get them back and not get

  reproed?

There is a guy here in Kelowna that has had a couple made up, look very nice.  I have passed his number on to a couple guys on here, I think one for sure followed through.   Think it was running around $1200, but try getting something like that refurbished and see what it will cost you.

Great picture Ken, showing the 3 trim lines on the rear of the 67's, the base model, the custom, and the SD (the SD having the custom 'ring' with 2 trim peices top and bottom on the inside of the custom trim)....

I also wonder what happened to the green SD clone... it certainly looked like a nice car for the money... you would think it would show up at some Vancouver shows!!

ak

p.s Captain B, if i sent away the SD trim to be used as a sample, i'd be sure to have a contract in place for their return and a damage guarantee...probably in the range of $3-5k... a little bit of incentive to take care of them!
