RE: Gas Prices

$1.08 here in Edmonton. Heading to the Island a week from tomorrow for a week's work. Then off to Fort Nelson. I can only imagine what the price is up there!

I was checking out the costs to anticipate, cause we are going to get screwed even more

So our Suburban gets 20g Km per year ..   so thats about 800 gallons.

so at $1.00  its  $3632.00 yr. = $302.66 per month

     at $1.25  its  $4544.00 yr. = $378.66 per month

     at $1.50  its  $5448.00 yr. = $454.00 per month

Here in the great state of Quebec it is 124.5 for gas and 129.5 for Diesel.

This is nothing ..wait until the wako`s in Saudi Arabia go nuts...We will all be riding bicycles!!!
What is happening over there right now is NOT GOOD.

WHAT makes me mad is, that the oil companies could lose 50% of  production from  there, and still supply, at the same prices..    How many BILLIONS do they want???? They are no worse than the Dictators over there screwing the poor people..

At lot say we can show them (OIL companies) our displeasure by boycotting the stations

I say stop FILLING UP!!!!!!

A million cars in Toronto (for example) buying 7-8 gallons instead of 14-16  drops sale 50%   drop in sales drops prices...  "They" raise prices and what do we do?????  We go fill up????    confuseconfuse

The problem is if we cut our consumsion by half that means the Gov.loose tax $$.So they will make up the difference by taxing it even more...

I really wouldn't be surprised if the unrest spreads to Saudi Arabia. If (or when) this happens, look out!

I respectfuly diasgree  The Government is too slow and stupid to respond
Besides a tax somewhere else for something we might want, or use, is better than profits in the oil compnay pockets....

Are you guys up north getting 100% gasoline? South of the border all our fuel is E10 (10% ethanol). I can't find gasoline anymore.

Every time I'm at the pump in the Okanagan, I'll sneak a peek at the premium price  (high octane) ...and cringe!  $1.50L today.  My Beau does about 8 MPG at best.  This is the price now ...imagine what the summer price will be?  no

In Ontario, our regular & mid grade have up to 10% ethanol. Our 'high test or Premium" in some brands [ Esso, Petro Canada, Sunoco] has no ethanol in it!!!! But it's getting harder to find non ethanol gasoline, I use the "high test " in the 64 Catalina [won't run on anything but] & in all garden equip. even the "whippangered.gifer snipper" as ethanol just "SCREWS" these pcs. of equipment up if you us it

They say in 5 years we will see many electric cars and in 5 years hydro rates will be up 40%-50%. Will they be the way to go . It won't be miles per gal. or miles per charge,Ithink it will be cost per mile wether it be gas ,deisel. electric. hydrogen, ethinol. Ithink they will be all close in price. On friday petro canada in New Hamburg  Ont.  was $1.235 and I drove right by.

It's really not about the price when looking at gasoline vs. electric. It's about sovereignty, environmental issues and depeleting a resource with a finite supply. It won't happen in our life time but it will happen that one day and it's not that long out there will be no gasoline. If we don't move to another form of power now we will and future generations of Canadians will really be 'screwed' to coin a phrase being used in this thread.
