That's a heck of rear bumper on the 65! I gotta go see the Stampede one of these years. I love watching it on TV.

I've never been to the Stampede either and have always hoped to make it there someday..

Aren't both Poncho Ragtops 66's...the one w/ the big bumper a US Bonneville?.

I was there in 1962, but I don't remember it. I was born during stampede week.

The local mall had free hotdogs & beans on Saturday afternoon, we had our pancake breakfast at work yesterday, and I've got another function late tomorrow afternoon, which I'm sure will feature a selection of smokies & burgers, not to mention some local beer.  If you plan it right, you can eat free every day of Stampede.    If you're trying to contact anyone in Calgary this week, good luck, they're all in the bar.

There used to be a breakfast down at the Westin where they only served vodka & orange juice, no food.  I went one year and was gooned by 10:00 am.  I went to work and just put my head on my desk and slept for a couple hours.  My boss couldn't say anything, he was in worse shape than I was.

Re the parade, I've been approached to have my convertible in it, driving some politician or something.  I don't think I like the idea of idling for a couple hours.

I drove my car in the Canada Day Parde once. Never again. It never overheated or even went past 3 MPH. What almost killed me was the heat and carbon monoxide, I was sick for the rest of the day and ended up missing all the festivities at the fair grounds. It seemed like a cool thing to do but it sucked bleh
