My Neighbour got a new car today

She likes her Jaguars, this is the third one I know she's had. Real estate agent, single about 60, nice lady.

I had to appraise a couple a few weeks back,  she was telling me how the 87 was her first-all I could think of was
"you had one and actually bought another" so of course it came out of my mouth-not quite like that but enough to see I was no fan

I've driven them for her from time to time taking her to doctor or home from dinner when she had too much wine and Mary drove our car home, she's a good friend. I'm not crazy about the Jags, she had a rag before this XK8? and a Vandem Plas before that. That V12 was a sweet ride. Can't wait to hop behind the wheel of this one though, you got to admit that's pretty.

If and I mean IF I were to buy some expensive import without question I'd buy a Lexus.

I like the pre-2004 XJ8. Almost bought one last year, a 2002, until I saw the dealer repair record and the cost of parts & repairs. I could see it rapidly becoming a deep money pit so I passed on it.

Yes, Lexus!!!biggrinbiggrinbiggrin The 400 model is sweet. My dad has a Lexus and there is no question on the quality.

forget them imports-theres lotsa nice luxury cars built here.

I was in Europe they all go nuts for Caddies and Vettes, you come back here and they all want Porsche and Mercedes.

We had a Lexus LS400 come in on trade a few weeks back. Same year as my Park Ave. I hate to say it but there was no comparison- the Lexus' leather was much more supple, it had a power rear window shade and the back seats even had seat back vibrators! V8, rear drive too boot (5 grand more than what I paid for my Buick though). Don't get me wrong, I truly REALLY like my Park Ave but the Lexus was nicer. Then again, it probably cost 20 grand more new too.

I've had 2 Jags over the years. One of the best handling cars over 100 mph ever built. When I had my 89 Corvette that I was getting sick of driving due to the cramped interior, rattles and leaks I went for a drive in a 88 Jag Sovereign. Traded the next day. It was a PITA car, but did it run & drive nice.

them Jags must be something-I had four C-4 corvettes over the years-both coupes and convertibles both auto and manual, best high speed cars I ever drove, great on fuel, no rattles, no leaks, fit me fine inside but I'm 5'10" and at the times of ownership between 145-175 lbs so might be tight for a bigger person, they were a challenge to get in and out of compared to other year Corvettes I had but thats all. I guess we all have our preferences
