My wife loves air cooled vw's, old british cars, and a lot of 60's american cars but she loves just about anything from the 50's, the more chrome and fins the better, lol.  She's really not interested in anything after the mid seventies (she hated my rabbit gti's) She likes our cutlass, mainly because it's fairly easy for her to drive, and she liked the way my biscayne scared the hell out of her everytime I fired it up.  She loooves the laurentian though, and wants it for herself.

Ever since I found out Amy signed on I figure my wife has too, but she's just quiet. My kids call her a Face Book Creeper so I am sure she creeps on here too. biggrin

As far as liking cars, Mary's first car was a brand new 1976 Firebird Esprit, just a gorgeous car, white with white interior and black accents, over the roof silver stripe, Rally II and Pontiac 350 dual tailpipe version.

When we had the Monte SS she drove it to work at Durham College in Oshawa from Toronto everyday and loved the cult status that car had in Oshawa, got a ticket for doing 120 on the on ramp one day!

She insisted on buying the Suburban and in 1999 it had to be the top of the line SLT, no Denali's until later, so it was a fully loaded beast. She still drives that everyday except when she has a long run to make to one of the hospitals in the west like Oakville or Hamilton she'll take the Deville.

She still talks fondly of the trek we made this summer in the LeMans to the Pointon's place near Owen Sound and how much fun that was meeting all the folks on Board here.

She will always cook a fine meal for 65Camino and me and Astro Jet too and bring refreshements out when we are turning wrenchs all day, never complains when I head out to swaps or cruises.

I was going to post that she wasn't a Car Girl but after all this I have proved that she is. biggrin

When I met Janice, I had a 51 Mecury P/up with a 355 chevy & 4 spd > I took her to a car show & when were leaving, she asked if she could drive it!!! Well what do you say to the one you are 'courting" Jan, got behind the wheel, took off down the road & "chirped" the tires in 2nd. gear. My jaw was down around my ankle"s She loves to be in the 64 Cat. & looks forward to our annual trip to West Virginia!!!  Not totally into this Hobby, but does go to the shows & can answer question about the car when I'm out "wandering""  Pete

Well I guess you could definately call my wife a car girl. When we first met I had my 65 SS and after a couple of years and many car shows she decided she needed her own, just like mine only a convertable. So we found a 65 rag top or her. She drove it the first summer with NO top. She helped do everything on that one.
After hearing me and my Dad talk about me wanting a 59 Impala and that I found one but it wasn't for sale, she went and worked on the guy for a year and convinced him to sell it to her and brought it home as a surprise. And again when my cousin said he wanted to sell the Acadian her first words were when are you going to buy it, you can't let someone else have it. She's a keeper, let's me play in the garage as needed and loves to buy me tools, only problem is I have to get them back from her first.

Connie puts up with my obsession but doesn't really share the passion. She'll go to a show. She really likes the 1920's cars and I think If I ever found a car from that era she wouldn't complain if I bought it. I have been told under no uncertain terms that if I ever buy a wagon she'll never ride in it.

LOL.. you just described my Wife!! She loves My friend's 29 Hudson. But my Daughter has the bug a little bit. She is shotgun in the 54 whenever I go out for "Just a Drive". I think it's some to do with the car not having seatbelts. Most of the kids love it just for that reason alone!
