Calgary meet and greet July 30th

We haven't done this for a while so here's a plan.
I will open my shop on Thurs July 30th at 5:00pm.
There will be burgers, pop and beer available.
If you are interested in attending, send me a PM and I will give you the address if you haven't been there before.
It would be helpful to know how many people are going to show up, in order to have enough burgers.
So far I believe seventy2plus2 and a real live "Poncho Master" will be in attendance.
If you ask nice I might even be able to clear one of my hoists if you want to take a look under your car. You never know what you might find if you haven't been under there for a while.

Rick

The last time I drove it, it was Day 1 Thunder Bay, Day 2 Regina, noon Day 3 I was in the bar in Calgary. Used $35.00 worth of gas.
Rat Chief would be much quicker I'm sure.
Might take afew more $ for gas.

I'd like to make it, but I'm not sure if I'll be here then. I'm at the very tailend of my project here in Calgary, and might be finished by Tuesday. If that's the case, I'll just head for home.

If your still around, you're more than welcome to join us. Otherwise I hope we'll see you again another time. I'm thinking Penticton would be fun again next year.

You're right it's the 30th. I must have looked at the August calendar rather than the July. I blame it on my Ooooltimers disease.

Man, I wish I could make it. Just got back from holidays and the pile is pretty huge. Will call you if I can make it. My son wants to go Friday to the Superrun in Red Deer too, not sure that will happen yet either..., gotta put new header gaskets on the Camino first !

Hi there,

You've made several references to "making movies". Can you elaborate a little more on that ?  Actor ? Production ? Technical ? etc.

Regards,

Scott (Landshark ...)

Just hit 26 here.
Hope your heat is not flame related.

No flames here, but all it will take is another careless smoker. The temp in Penticton on Tuesday was 40C and there's been no rain for a long time. I'm clearing away dead branches and debris from the slope above the house just to be safer. Don't want a lot of fuel lying around.

I had fun at our meet and greet.
I must say this group is a pretty cheap date. The offer was free burgers, beer and pop for anyone that showed up.
It cost about 8 pop, 7 beer and 9 hamburgers and 6 sausages to satisfy the 1076 members.

We will try it again another day.

Maybe the the cost would be higher if a real Poncho Superstar showed up.

Well even though I am only a lowly Poncho Master, I can't thank Rick and the rest of Calgary Crew enough for their great western hospitality.  Yes, it was yours truly that was the special mystery guest.  Once again I can say that CP members across Canada are like a fraternity and are some of the most helpful, nicest people you will ever meet anywhere.  We had a great time and Rick's cooking on the mega-BBQ can't be beat.  Although the turn-out wasn't large, there were some very nice cars in attendance.
Sitting in the circle left to right are Warren, Rick, Werner and Clint.  Steve (65CS) is directly behind Warren and is blocked out of the photo- sorry about that!  Clint and I by Rick's 65 Beaumont - two white CP shirts by a white CP car.  The last shot is of a 67 vert that was cannabilized for Rick's red car - they all can't live - some must die so the others can survive.wink
