I had a 425 in a 66 Old delmont 88 four door hardtop. That car would burn the tires to the rims with a car full of screaming teanagers. Tons of torque. And that was with a two barrel carb. Its a big wide engine, can you make it fit ?
FLOATING THE IDEA OF 425 IN MY GP IN PLACE OF SBC, 2 TIRES BY THE WAY, DUAL EXHAUST
OH! you were serious I would think that since a 455 Olds will fit in a Buick Apollo that it will fit in GP with the right color and emblems, it would be a sleeper motor go for it Mr Hot Rodder
If I was going to swap anything other than a Pontiac motor it would be a 430 or 455 Buick. Now they have torque. Even a 350 2 bbl Buick will smoke the tires at will. I've done it in 69 and 72 Skylarks with 350s.
425 BBO is the same physical size as a 455 BBO all big block olds are the same size & all the small blocks are the same (215 aluminum motor & early pre 64 i believe )
my 425 is actually a 425 crank (steel) in a 455 block lots & lots of torque but weighs a ton , probably 150lbs more then a cast iron headed SBC
be careful with the engine mounts -- cutlass supreme mounts the engine lower & to the left -- the motors are very wide so you need to pay attention to the booster & a/c box if applicable
