Now this is how to sell cars!

This is one of the most politically incorrect (by today's standards) commercials I have ever seen, but I love it!  Who could not love rescuing caged go-go girls!  I think it was an intermission feature at drive-in movie theatres - remember those?
I love the 60's!!!biggrin

I hear ya Dave. I find it interesting they pit the Chevelle against "one of their own" - a GTO. Why not a Mopar?

There was a bar in London in the late 80's called Dr. Rockets. They had go-go girls.

It appeared that the GTO driver was on the brakes about 1/2 way through the drag test!

If you watch the race the GTO always pulls off the start and pedals.

Mopar never really had a car to compete with them in '66, maybe the Valiant barracuda, but I think the biggest motor was a 273, It would've been behind the Ford somewhere, and used up too much time to film.....LOL

Which '66 mid-size should they have chosen that would out-muscle a '66 SS396-375 L-78?

Exactly the same engine in the '65 Corvette was rated at 425hp.

wink

But the one in the commercial was a 360 horse. I have trouble believing a tripower stick Goat can't beat a 360 horse Chevelle.

Well they did have the 440 and the street Hemi was available in 66...also the 383 was around...would have been interesting if they included a Charger, or Satelite or Belvedere, maybe a Coronet.

There's a reason they didn't put a Plymouth or Dodge with a 426 or 440 up against the Chevelle.
What do you think?
