starting problems on 1950 fleetleader special

For the firs time since I got the Car, I finally hooked a battery and tried to fire it up

It turns over, but will not fire. suggestions on what I should do please.

I got to find the parts I bought, spark plugs, point , condenser and new coil , damned wife put them away and dont remember where she put them, I also have a new regulator and sparkplug wires at leasr I know where those are.

the gas tank has some old gas in it, was going to replace the tank, but the new one is a little diferent set up, so I gotta check that out , it has everything coming out of the top of the tank, on the old tank there appears to be a bottom drain plug should I try removing that , then blow out the lines, and add some new gas

engine is a flathead 6, 6 volt system

thanks bill in red deer

I would disconnect the gas line and run it off a gas can to start it. Have you checked for spark yet?
If no spark, change the points, still no spark, change coil. Dribble a bit of gas in the carb once you have spark and that should do it. At least enough to make it fire.
It's probably best to go through the ignition system, change the oil, and clean out the fuel system from tank to carb. But to just get it running the above should do, unless your timing and/or compression are the problem.
Good luck!

as he said, check for spark, fuel spray at the carb.

if that fuel in the tank is a year old, drain it, add fresh fuel.
