Heading off this morning for the Woodward Dream cruise in Detroit MI, taking my Beaumont this year! Hope the weather is good and the folks across the border like my car! Will take lots of pics!
I arrived yesterday. WOW, the cruising on Woodward on Wed. night was as thick as I have ever seen it, it looked like Sat night! The enthusiasts are out in force with their cars, unfortunately the recession has taken it's toll on the corporate displays. I saw no evidence of anything being set up by GM at the three sites they usually occupy. Same with Chrysler. Ford has taken over all the billboards on Woodward previously used by GM, UGHH! Lots of empty storefronts every where, the recession has really hit hard here. Will start taking pictures today.
Kevin, I took the tunnel yesterday because USUALLY it is the shortest wait time but not Wed., 45 minutes, the longest I have ever waited to get across the border but other enthusiasts told me Sarnia was a long wait as well. Maybe try the Ambassador Bridge?
I will look for your car. What is the colour combo/plate number?

I hope to go for Friday night only. I live near Sarnia and it's an easy drive back and forth, sameday.
I will probably try the bridge in Sarnia first. There are websites giving line-up delay details and even cameras along the highway leading up to the bridge.
If it looks like a long delay, I may try the ferry at Sombra. Not alot of folks know about this option, but it is usually less busy and makes for a more interesting trip.
What parts of Woodward do you guys recommend ? I was thinking of started at the Pontiac, Michigan end of the cruise and working my way down.

Traffic is getting so bad now down on the main part of the strip that many people are just doing the loop around Pontiac. Apparently it is the only place where burn-outs are still tolerated as well.

Glad to see some of you are going it is by far the biggest show out there and the variety of machines is unreal. The best way i find to go from london area is the sombra ferry, its 5 bucks and runs every 15min. I was going to take the TA but developed a rad leak (newer aluminum) about 2 hours ago dam''''. I will be riding instead in a 72 gremlin x ,original car super clean and a cool colour with original paint buddy calls it the chick magnet. I guess its something old and a bonus its got air!
i wish i saw this earlier unburt, i have my two-core rad i bought for my t/a that you could have used!! I do need it back though cause im going to "coax" it into the 59. And yes, Sombra is the best way to go, we used to go to concerts all the time and use the ferry(plus i never had to pay, i knew the ferry operator at the time)
