Friday 9:30 PM, Just got back from Woodward and it was just as crowded as if it were Sat. Our 65 Beaumont was stopped three time by the Police, Pontiac, Birmingham, and Beverly Hills all wanting to know what a Acadian Beaumont was and who built them. Had a GREAT TIME. Can't make it on Saturday Our best friends son is getting married, first time I'll miss the Cruise sence it started.

Woodward has been insanely busy this year. Although there are signs everywhere of how hard the economy has been hit in Michigan (unemployment rate 16%, empty storefronts and office buildings everywhere, all the speed shops in Detroit have gone out of business) it hasn't affected the cruising. What I always find truly amazing is that while the estimates of vehicles participating runs in the neighbourhood of 40,000, I would say fully 95% of those are from Michigan. It is a civic duty to be car enthusiast in Michigan!
Joe is right, Woodward on the week nights this year has been every bit as busy as it usually is on Sat.. in fact last night it was so gridlocked on "lower" Woodward (below 14 Mile) that we went up to Pontiac and hung out at "The Loop". At least traffic was somewhat moving there and we did see a few burn-outs, which have been few and far between the last couple of years. I didn't see Suzie and Joe but did see one other Beaumont that I did manage to get a pic of.
Tomorrow is the big day so we'll see what comes out of the woodwork!

Just got back myself. Insane to say the least. Gm is no where to be found though. Hung out at 13th mile and had a blast. Going to attempt to be there for 8am for a full day of cruising...
Yup, GM in the past has had three big corporate displays at different locations, this year, NADA! At least Chrysler still had their display at 13 Mile, although it was scaled down somewhat. The triangle in Birmingham where Chevrolet has previously had their corporate display has been take over by the American Motors Owners association!
