1929 Willys Knight

Someday I'd like to purchase an early antique car (19-teens to late 20's). If I ever buy one, I want one that is untouched. Here's a perfect example. Heck, the original sign from the selling dealer is included. This Willys is Canadian built to boot!

thats really cool. I couldent own something like that cause i would have to make a rat rod type car out of it and thats not right with an original car like that.

Don't remember to much about coming home from St Mikes Hospital, were I was born in July of 1938, in my Dad's 1930 Willys!  However since he kept the car until 1947 and me being a real "car kid" I can  remember that it looked a lot like this one!  It had wood wheels and one spare on pass side!  Did not have cowl lamps, but parking lamps on front fenders!  Dash looks to be the same! Tail light certainly is the same, as I can still remember it having the word "STOP" embossed in the lens! To start the car, driver pulled up on the horn button and many a time it would not work, so Dad would lift the front seat, remove the crank and after some choice words, and energetic cranking we were on our way!  While dad was cranking, I would work the gas pedal, even though I was only about 7 or 8 years old! One day as we were driving along, the drivers side rear fender fell off, so we stopped threw it in the back and as soon as we got home, dad being a back yard mechanic, made up some brackets and remounted the fender!  Gosh those were the days!

That's a great story! I would also like to have a Model T. Not so much into the Model A's though. There is THIS great barn find T in North York that I would love to own but it's not in the cards this year.  Pics:

I'd have to take it out on a deserted road to learn how to drive the damn thing though! confuse

I have a friend with a 1927 Pierce Arrow, I'll get a photo of it and post it up. It is a very nice automobile, awesome actually when you look at the workmanship that went into it. Pierce Arrow's were manufactured in Buffalo NY and were know as the car of Royalty.

its amazing how cheap (comparatively) T's, A's, stock Chev etc.. are at the age of 70-80 years ! I always thought it to be cool to have one at least once too. I recently appraised an A town sedan barn find-amazing how cool and how affordable

As the group of guys who appreciate T and A (the cars......) grows older and ultimately dies off, the prices go down on the cars since supply exceeds demand. No matter how you slice it, we (the musclecar age guys) are the next group of guys who are getting older and dying off. It won't be long before our musclecars will be priced like the Model T and Model A cars.

Call me crazy but I bet 20 years from now my prediction won't be far off.

the only benefit muscle cars have is they appeal to a wider age group otherwise we'd already be fast on the down side of that peak-that said 20 years is conservative-honestly we've already past the peak/heading back down and this economy won't help any either

My friend and I often discuss this and we agree it really is 15 years. I just didn't want to scare all the guys on here!!!

Well I went to get a picture today but Joe has moved the Pierce Arrow too far back in the garage to get a good angle . He pulled out his 56 Ford pick up and is using it as his daily driver for the summer.

I brought Hillar with me today to see Joe, I'll forget what we saw but it goes something like this: 77 Buick Regal, 67 Mustang, 64 T Bird, 56 Ford 2dr Sedan, T Bucket, 59 Cadillac, 57 Bel Air, 68 Firebird, 27 Pierce Arrow,  mid 70's Lincoln, and a Trans Am and Z28 under tarps. Several vintage coke machines, juke boxes washing machines as well. Joe has a nice 400 sbc sitting there calling my name, several intake and carb combos including tri powers on the back shelf. Lots of Fun!

My neighbour bordering on my back yard came by a couple nights ago through the cul de sac and I got a late evening picture of him and my dog I see. The only trouble with these old timers is that is about as far as you'd want to go with them or else in a parade. It was purring along very nicely but it looked like he had his hands full.

You are right Jerel. I wouldn't want one of them as my only old car due to their limitations. I'd have a blast bombing around town in a T though!

That is a very cool Willys.  Last year there were a bunch of T's driving through town and they stayed at the Ramada Inn here. I imagine someone did guard duty at night. I was just looking through and found pics from the Plunkett 08 show. A couple T's, an A, a rolls and a 35 Pierce among this bunch of 20's and 30's lot. I'm a fan of the Art Deco 30's cars myself.
