I too am in the process of growing my hair to donate. My sister spent 5 months in hospital and had her thigh-bone replaced with a cadaver bone, but the hardest part on her was the fact she was going to lose her hair. I told her I'd shave my head and go through it with her but she said to me, "Don't do that Frankie. Your hair has always been part of your identity." So I told her then I'd go the other way and grow it long enough to donate. I've been told the pony tail has to be a minimum of ten inches long. Who really knows for sure? One last thing before I finish here, just to give you guys some idea of why she made the comment she did. For my Mum & Dad's 25th wedding anniversary, when I was 16, I went and got a haircut as a surprise. When I walked in the house, which was full of well-wishers, my Dad took one look at me, walked over and grabbed his humidor and started passing out cigars and saying to everyone: "IT'S A BOY!"
