Yeah, when I have some time I'll put it up on 1969Pontiac.com with the others. I've had to start watermarking everything because so much of the content I've taken the time to assemble and scan just gets copied onto other people's sites.
Off your website Dave:
This one is a little different; its a letter to the owner of that car best known as "that original 427 4-spd car that has rotted away completely in a farmyard while the owner waits for someone to pay him a bunch of money for the VIN tag". The letter is from 1978 and documents 12 as being the number of 427 four speed cars produced for 1969. Note this is probably only 2+2s, there could be Strato Chiefs out there with that combination that are not counted.
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Hello all Was at a car show on Saturday in Sylvan Lake, AB. Driving around was a 69 2+2 rag, red with white top, & white guts. It finally parked close to where I was, Had a closer inspection, it had 427 emblem with console & automatic. Was it real, I`m not sure. Wasn`t smart enough to take my camera to the car show, so I didn`t get any pictures, (stupid me). Had manitoba plates on it. Body was faded, & had what looked like bondo cracking in a few places. Not sure if anybody from this site was at the car show & got any pictures or not. Maybe we should put a all points bullentin on the trans canada highway & watch for it. Thought I`d share it with all you CDN pontaic nuts. Darcy
I JUST TALKED TO DARCY, HE HAS SPOTTED THIS CAR AROUND SYLVAN LAKE A COUPLE OF TIMES, STILL WITH MANITOBA PLATES. HE THINKS IT MAY BE THE RED ONE PICTURED ON THE FOLLOWING SITE
This was Morley's 2+2 , and has been recently parted out, and sent to the crusher.
I was tempted to buy this years ago, but it was too far gone. Had a CE warranty block at the time .
Hopefully all the 4 spd related parts ,console, emblems + fender louvres were saved.
As 427Carl noted in another post, the person who purchased the gold 427 4 spd 2+2 ht in Ontario bought what he wanted from the blue car. All that Morley had left after the gold car owner's visit was the 4 speed console and the bucket seat tracks I believe.
I got an email this morning from a fellow in BC who says he owned a '69 427 4 speed Strato Chief back in the day. He's going to provide me with more details. Hopefully he has photos and perhaps a VIN. It would be cool to send it to GM Vintage Vehicles and get production numbers..
