We went out for a quick dinner, heading home at about 7:00 pm it starts raining then the next thing I see is the wind whipping in circles and the Deville darn near got blown off the Woodbine bridge in East York, It was like a sheet of wind just pushing on the side of the car, very hard to steer it straight until I cleared the bridge, I was right at the post office but high tailed it home. The wippers wouldn't kick into fast mode because no rain was hitting the windshield, the wind was blowing it off the windshield but I couldn't see a thing it was coming down so hard in front of the car, Zero visibility off the nose. The sun is shining now. Lots of damage here in Toronto and GTA, lots. Got my wife and daughter close to the side door but I got soaked through making the run 80 feet from the driveway to the terrace door.
Hey Ray, got our newsletter yesterday. Didn't know it was there as the wife took off with it to read before me. Very professional, I know we appreciate your hard work. Brian
Ray Canada Post new rate is not first class but "no class". I sent a bubble pack envelope to the U.S. the other day cost was $3 for the envelope and $5.25 to mail it. It's becoming ridiculous, oh and if they lose it you are expected to wait 3 months to consider it lost. Can it get any worse? RANT! ARCADIAN
Imagine if you are in business. It's becoming the single largest cost of doing any contact with your clients. If you use those business reply envelopes they actually charge 68 cents instead of the regular rate for "value added service".
And thanks Brian for your kind words . I hope Judy and you enjoyed the newsletter.

I phoned Old Autos today to request they mail me a replacement issue for the August 17th one I am missing. They send replacements in an envelope to ensure they show up but they have to pay more postage. The lady on the phone just seemed to be resigned to the fact that a certain number get lost/destroyed each mailing. These dough-heads at Canada Post don't seem to realize that magazine subscriptions are a huge part of their remaining business. With more and more correspondence being sent electronically, I really wonder how much longer they will be around in their current form

We definitely did, by the way , Chris, and Joe from Michigan joined me at the Orangeville Cruise night last night. First time meeting Joe, Quite a guy, and super 65. I hope the guys enjoyed, its a club we belong to. Down to earth guys, and a no B.S. cruise night. Used to go to the ones in mississauga and brampton when I was down there, this one is definitely better.
