1955 Pontiac Fin Lights

The 55 Pontiac we bought has these fin lights on the car.. after much searching I came up with nothing on them...  I believe they are original..what do you think?.........any ideas where a person might find the lenses?

Thanx, Deborah

Sorry, no, not an original item. Kool kustom touch, though.

The front part looks reminscent of 59 Cadillac taillight, a very popular customization for many years (my 56 will have them, but centered in the original taillights), but the housings are not 59 Caddy, if anything they look like housings from some 60-ish Imperial, which had them perched on top of the rear fenders like a rocket ship ...

Check the steering colum and see if your car came with factory signal lights. If not maybe these lights are wired for aftermarket signl lights.

The Imperial tailights were known as "sparrow strainers". So called by the late great "Uncle" Tom McCahill
