A few cars I had...

Hi to all

Here a few cars I had in the past 5 years or so...

One of them, you wouldn't know, was an 83 Ford Del Rey. It was a brazilian car, very comfortable, and it's 1.6 liter engine was very good for it's time. It had also an 3 speed auto transmisson and A/C.

Another car I liked a lot was my '78 Ford Maverick... It was in decent condition. It had a 2.3L 4 cyl. engine. The Maverick has a lot of enthusiasts in Brazil!

Also had an project 49 Lincoln, but ended selling. I made good money on that one. biggrin

And now a new project. A '70 Dodge D-100 truck. There were sold only about 3.000 of these here, and is a very rare truck nowadays.

And a '75 Dodge Dart I restored, after and before. I still have it...
It has a 318 c.i. V-8 and 4 speed manual trans, and also isn't very easy to find one of these nowadays.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the cars made in my country.. Most of them you might know, since are american cars, but they aren't exactly the same as the ones manufactured up there. smile

i notice the bumper standards don't exist down there. your '78 maverick has '70-'72 style bumpers. other than the different grill, the dart looks like a '69! wink

I like that Dodge truck and the Dart. Too bad the 75's here didn't look like that!

The 75 Dart looks like the Canadian/American version of the 69 Dart with a different grille. The body lines look to be the same.

My job takes me to South America from time to time and it is a old car guy's haven down there. I was really surprised my first time to Brazil there to see so many Chevrolet and Ford branded cars I never knew. Dodge is big too. In some places like Bolivia they use 60 and 70's GMC and Chevy School-like buses for public transport, you know the big block kind. It is nothing to see American 50's cars and trucks driving around. I even saw a 76 Parisienne station wagon converted to funeral use in Sucre, Boliva.
