You got it Carl. Theres a hole in the intake where this long curled pipe goes into and gets heated by the exhaust. The pipe then comes out and attaches to the choke thermostat on the carb.
It came with a block off plate in case I decide to go without. I kind of like having the choke and high idle that I've been spoiled with on my 350 and Edelbrock carb.
Hmm, some kind of picture would be great. For some reason I am having difficulty picturing any of the big blocks that used a tube like that. I am used to them having a choke "coil" sitting in the intake with a rod running up that attaches to the choke plate.

You could get the tube AFTER the engine is in.. It will run w/o it
