I'm done buying Classic Cars Auto Trader

Issue after issue, they leave out the make, model and year of many of the cars. They mis-label many too. Is no one proof reading this stuff? Doesn't anyone there give a crap?

Total ineptitude. If they can't bother to identify the cars correctly (or at all), I won't bother purchasing the magazine.

furious

Anyway, y'all have a nice day. smile

Yeah I've been noticing the same thing.  That and a lot of duplication.  It seems whoever is putting this out just doesn't care.  Still its hard to resist looking at all  the dream material out there. (even the occasional Pontiac!)

No kidding. I saw several cars that were in the latest issue at least four times each.

Looks like padding to fill pages to me. hmm

I find the Autotrader and Buysell Publications are getting smaller and smaller since the Internet is taking over ie. Kijiji, Craigslist, usedwinnipeg..., Ebay... free ads and more surfers looking.

I haven't bought one in years. Hemming's motor news is all I buy.

Been quite a while since I've paid for one - for all the reasons given above.
It was great in its day but I fear its day has come and gone.

Remember when we all looked forward to Friday and the new Auto Trader and the monthly Old Car Trader? Folks here in Ontario also looked forward to the Triad. I haven't bought any of those publications in a long time..

The days of print media are just about done. Trader Publications is going to be a thing of the past. They aren't helping themselves by putting out a poor quality magazine.

I haven't looked at one in years, are they still in business?  I thought everything had gone on-line now...

Those were the days when the Tri-Ad wasn't even distributed in Toronto.  I had to drive to Oakville to get one.  I had my special variety store closest to TO located just off the QEW where I would head off to every third Thursday of the month.  Rushed home to scan through it and phone any leads.  It's been a couple of years since I bought one.  The Buy & Sell in Toronto as far as I know has gone belly up.  For a while they were giving it away for free in subway stations but even that didn't work; advertisers just stopped using it.  The classified ad sections of the newspapers are shrinking dramatically as well.  The Toronto Star "antique cars" section was always good for a few leads.

ANYBODY BOUGHT A BARGAIN FINDER IN ALBERTA LATELY. WHAT A JOKE. I HAVE BOUGHT BOTH THE EDMONTON AND CALGARY B.F. EVERY THURSDAY FOR OVER 20 YEARS. NO MORE! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY THESE DAYS.

I remember getting the Auto Trader every week after i got my license to check out the cars for sale. I don't like looking at Trader online because of a lot of fake ads, kijiji not so much lately it's gotten better.

Before it was the Tri-Ad, it was The Bargain Mart. When I was 15 I couldn't wait for the next issue to hit the stands. Auto Trader has sucked for years. And what's with their website? Youi see, for example, a 1967 GTO 389 4-spd. rotisserie restoration, $4,500.00 and it's on there about 4 to 6 times with pictures. There's other vintage cars on their with the same low prices and 4 t0 6 pictures. I emailed them and asked them why they even allow these ads on there but of course never got a reply.

THE BARGAIN FINDERS ARE FULL OF THOSE LOW PRICED ADS. ALSO, ALOT OF THE ADS GIVE A BIG FULL DESCRIPTION OF A VEHICLE, BUT DON'T INCLUDE THE YEAR, MAKE OR MODEL OF THE ADVERTISED VEHICLE. IS IT A GTO OR A PACER?confuse CAN'T SEE THEM LASTING TOO MUCH LONGER. KIJIJI SEEMS TO BE THE WAY TO GO THESE DAYS. I MAY HAVE TO BREAK DOWN AND FINALLY GET INTERNET AT HOME NOW.no

My ritual is to go through some of the regions in the province and look at the classics.  Usually Mon to Fri i have a daily look.  I just leave the website up and keep coming back when i can.
