Hi Everyone. Member since May of this year but first posting here. Have had nothing but wonderful feedback and help from everyone. 427Carl Hicks in Clinton ON is awesome and has been a great help to us with our car, as have Steve from Cobourg ON and Kim here is Surrey BC. Thanks also to Dale @ NOS Reproductions in Komoka, ON for some hard-to-get parts.
Attached is a pic of our car. Not perfect yet (time!!!!) but it certainly turns a few heads on the Vancouver cruise circuit. Sat in a covered quonset hut north of Edmonton most of every of the last 15 years and was driven about once a year. Shipped it out this spring on an auto carrier. But even though Alberta is very dry, it needed a lot underneath just to make BC provincial safety - full brake lines front-to-back, emergency brake unit (from S. Carolina), upper/lower control arms, motor mounts etc. plus a windshield. But the body was 99.9% rust-free (tiny, tiny bit under each rear quarter) and the floors are totally rust-free. Completely original Aqua (271) vinyl interior (back seat is like new), original Tuxedo Black (A) body colour with one mediocre repaint about 8 years ago. But unmolested with all trim present and a very straight body. Mileage is (we think) about 135,000. Engine is a 327/2-bbl. w/double-hump heads (runs strong) and single exhaust. We've added an Edelbrock Z/28 clone intake and Holley 600 CFM 4-bbl plus full custom-bent duals with Cherry Bombs. Then came the 20" X 8.5" Ions with 255-35 tires. I'm a commercial realtor and my son's a financial planner - both super-busy - so other than the work above the only thing we've had the time to do so far (...in the shop for weeks waiting for correct parts..) was give it a good wash! So refurb. the .engine bay is next, then we may think about a quality repaint, bit of interior touch-up and clean up the trunk (new mats etc.). Sometime we'll rebuild the engine & tranny but both work well now with no leaks.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Cheers!
Welcome to the site and enjoy all the information that's around. Nice car a 64 Pontiac Parisienne Custom sport rag if I'm reading the front fender emblems right. That is a beautiful car.
Did you repaint the car or is that a still to do thing?
