Something stuck in my head when I was a teenager attending a family wedding in Delaware for my cousin who was at Annapolis Naval Academy. Two of my aunts married career USMC boys, they met here in Canada when they were here training during WWII.

At the reception one of my uncles, a Sgt. Major introduces me to some young girl who was there and says "Ya, they even speak American up in Canada"

I made my mind up then and there that I would never speak or spell "American" as long as I lived!! I felt like saying to him "WTF it's English" but he would have broken my arm

Donations are being accepted, just had to pay $1,400 of non-covered dental bills and now it looks like root canal for the youngest Miss White, the referral dentist is at Avenue Rd. & Bloor $$$$$$$$$$$, so can't imagine the bill being any less!
