GM historic vehicle service

Does anyone know if the the GM Canada service to document older cars is still operating? Can it be accessed online?

Hillar, I'm not buying anything just now; I thought I might be able to get the build details for my 62 Parisienne but it looks like detailed info is only available for post 64 models.

Now, if I can find an affordable  67-68 big block SS Impala convt, or a good 68 Biscayne sedan, or any 67-70 big block Chev/Pontiac B body wagon at the right price, one of those I will buy.

Vincent, what is this 68 RCMP Pontiac? I remember those late 60s/early 70s big block RCMP cars. Would love to get one of those too.

I noted that a dealer supplied the car, and would have expected some form of direct sale from Oshawa? Diplomatic sales were handled by offices in both Oshawa and NYC...the latter could order Canadian cars. These were tax-free of course.

When I worked for the Government we would Tender in National and Provincial publications but also Locally. All our fleet purchases were handled by local dealers regardless of whether GM Corporate Fleet Sales won the tender. Vehicles had to be pre-delivery inspected etc... and the vehicles were delivered to the local dealer.

it does now...

was scanning the kijiji ads last year, feb/march sometime, saw a red chevelle ad, kept going w/out looking at it. backtracked when it dawned on me the car was a 300 model. looked at the ad, he had an underhood picture, car had 2 hooks in the frame i had put there back about '77!
went and looked at it(bracebridge), price was ok, but it needed everything, floor pans, trunk, 1/4s, interior. it was no where near the shape it was in when i sold it in '86. motor and trans were long gone, still had it's 12 bolt.
hummed and hawwed for a couple days, but he sold it, said it went to waterloo.
if i knew then(1 of 1 in canada), i'd have bought it. sigh....

track it by its v.i.n. vis mto-new owner likely hasn't done anything or even know what it is let alone the low numbers imported

i doubt it's in the current owners name yet ken.
when i looked at it, i also got the seller pkg, it was still in the previous owners name. he never put it in his name in the 2 yrs he had it.
thought it was odd, the owner history went back to '86, but only the guy's name i sold it to. i owned it '76-'86.

can't hurt to try-seems with this must be appraised for transfer if over 20 years old has people transfering titles-could check back with the previous seller-see if you can get a name

nostagia and one of one-I'd work on it if I were you
