"The judge didn't say licence suspension or a car tow was unconstitutional. What he said is that a conviction for stunt driving by speeding is unconstitutional," Morton said.

Street racers who are nabbed under this legislation would not be affected by the judge's ruling. They would be tried under a different subsection of the law that deals with racing in particular, Morton explained."
This will be interesting. Parts of the law are definitely questionable, but the street racing should be cut & dry.

I guess if you are racing at any speed in heavy traffic, they should throw the book at you, but why if there is no one around on a major hwy,(407, 401, etc...) It should be a fine. Up to the discretion of the cop. The problem is too much car not enough driver usually.

The lady was 62 driving to see her new grand child.. She was  afraid of trucks, and passed one at 131 and "slowed down..    The officer let her keep her house key, and left her at the side of the road  THAT IS NOT STUNT DRIVING disbelief   Fine the Hell out of her, but don't leave her at the side of a 400 highway..

If we as Canadians dont start standing up for our right to be free before you know it we will be living in a comunist society! Under no cirumctance should a police be able to be the judge and jury! Yes street racing is wrong but there are beter ways of getting rid of it! The law is way to general like if I do a burnout on my bike in public I can get street racing charges! I know alot of people wont agree with me but look what they are doing to motorcycle clubs like the hells angels. The laws are getting way out of hand!

427CARL...i DID NOT KNOW THEY LEFT HER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIWAY...Just how stupid are the cops, also if she is afraid of big trucks, then take the secondary highways, what was the speed limit on the road if it was 80kph then she was 51 over the limit 110 kph she was still 21 over the limit... if she dont slow down she might never see her grandchild again
