'66 beaumont reverse lights

What are people doing to replace the extinct rear bumper mounted  '66 reverse lights?

If this is a wanted ad, I believe I may be able to help you out!

If I recall correctly they look like the ones used on 64 Lemans and I think I might have a used set in driver condition.

Yes indeed I would be interested.  Thanks for checking!  (I have the remains of one if you need a picture or measurements to confirm.)
thx

The units themselves look like they are the same ones used in 1964 & 1966 full-sized Pontiacs (Canadian & Wide-Track U.S. cars). That definitely widens the pool of available units.

I could use a set of reverse light housings myself.

I have a set but the mounting studs broke off flush.

I may try to repair them, but I would rather find a set in good shape.

The fact that they're plastic and exposed to the elements really limits their life expectancy.  Coupled with the fact that they are not reproduced creates a problem.
I know that many have opted to go with either a 66 Chevelle bumper (with no reverse lights) or a 67 Chevelle bumper with reproduction reverse lights available.

The GTO reverse lights are metal and reproduced, but they have a slight "wave" to the design to compensate for the bumper.  Therefore, they can work in a pinch, but not the best.  Currently I have a set of these installed (thank up Carlsmile)  Interestingly
enough, they will accomodate the Beaumont reverse lens, but only if it is put in backwards (or possibly filed down.)
The search continues...

'66 Beaumont only guys. Others may "almost" work or look close but if you want original they are the only ones out there.
Maybe someone could check into making reproductions.

I just got a set from Jerel for reference (thank you again for that) and they are in tough shape too.. I also have a 62-69 master parts catalog that says the part number, and what other cars have that part number.. but.. I've tried to see any in question with little to no success. I'm in calgary now, so I cant copy the page to show you all.. I will try when I get back to BC in a few weeks. it's amazing how fragile they are.. are the sockets removable (I assume yes) I'm afraid of putting too much torque on the housings for the bulbs as it might just explode the rest of the reverse light housing.

You're a molding machine Kelly. I'd love to learn that art. I find it very interesting.

If it helps, as a reference, I used to have a Thingmaker when I was young, and molded all kinds of rubber insects!biggrin

I have a set of driver quality ones I'm willing to part with that I took off a 66 Laurentian in while visiting southern Saskatchewan a few years ago. I was looking for a set for my 62 but 66 are smaller.
